ohgod yes.

If you'd prefer to talk instead of pew pew, stay at least 8k away from the hostile. Yes, sometimes this isn't possible, but it's a good goal. Also, don't sit still if you think there's going to be shooting. Right Junkers? :P
Edit: wrote this before I saw Kali's post above mine. I'd change Kali's post to "If you want to natter, choose your distance to your enemies wisely" though.
The whole 'Talk vs shoot' argument makes me draw one conclusion.
"Being good to each other" only applies when it suits the guy with the bigger guns.
eeeedit: That isn't to say that shooting someone isn't good, it's just saying that, if someone doesn't want to fight, it should be respected. You can always shoot someone else instead of ruining the next four hours for them.

Good words. I myself usually try to just chase people off to their next base or at least out of my sight if they don't want to fight, but I bet someone will answer with "It's a space-combat game. Deal with it." soon =/

I fail to see how dying ruins four hours. Oh no, you can't go back to New York now that the LN killed you.
That said, the only thing I dislike is people who log in purely to kill you, then log off again. Though understandable, it's mildly aggravating to expect a fight with x number of players when suddenly 2x players log in just to shoot you, and when you are dead or run away they log off again.

Eh, not exactly the situation I was talking about, it's pretty subjective I guess, if I can give an example I'll post it.
