Anti-Cheat keeps killing me

Alright, I'm getting a new computer tomorrow that wont have any extra stuff on it. So I'll see how that one goes before downloading anything to check it out.

I've had one thought in reading this that I don't see mentioned anywhere else.

Is your FL install from a disc, or from a torrent?

The reason I ask is - there are some torrented versions of Freelancer out there that aren't quite pure ISO copies. Actually, they've got the .ini files already unpacked - and someone did some playing in those .ini files. That's one reason back when the mine cheat got going the first time, there were a LOT of people automatically banned - they had a bad install.

I'm just thinking that even though you re-installed the game, if your actual source had an issue, nothing is going to correct that.

(Note - I personally don't have an issue if you use a torrent file. I obviously can't come out and say that I support people using them, since that's against the terms of use of our forums.)

Nah, I use a CD. I've never had this problem with this computer until a week ago. Nothing like this ever happened on my other computer either.



I also noticed that it takes an hour or two until after I log until the anti-cheat kills me. But after that, it happens about every 15 minutes.

why not:PYou can still use a computer without it - but all programs then You have to run by "run new" in task menager.

Well you can have fun doing it O_o, oh and yes I know you can use start a new progress and reenter it, but I dun wanna make Russell Q_Q on me in skype O-o.
