<strike>I haven't been playing long, I know, but today I have seen three incidents that I might consider a little oorp, first one was dealt with nicely by the admins and I'd appreciate it if it wasn't brought up again in this thread, the second and third however are very much related. They both concern the use of faction prefixes, in these cases LSF and Armed Forces.

I saw the LSF tagged vessel in New London, where I had stopped to deliver my cargo load of Engine Components, in a group consisting of Bretonnian Military. The Armed Forces tag I spotted on it's way to Manhattan.

Now I know sometimes you want to explore Sirius and venture out elsewhere, but surely the faction prefixes and suffixes are there to help Rp and make you identifiable. By displaying the wrong one you confuse and dilute the role-playing experience.

Now it really doesn't matter as far as my Xeno is concerned you're all the enemy, but my trader and cop both require the knowledge of whose on their side and who isn't.

If you're displaying the wrong tag and you get blasted by my cop (or as is more likely, you blast my cop) please don't get mad, get a name change certificate and sort it out.

I thank you for your time.</strike>

Edit: It would appear I have made a grevious error, as I myself am displaying a Navy tag and I'm not even close to being Navy as I RP, It would seem that it is incredibly easy to get a hold of Liberty government tags, but incredibly difficult to get rid of them. My apologies to all.

The ID is the end all in most cases.... which I hate, cause you can't tell if the person is friend or foe until they are within scanning range... I personally think the tag should be FORCED to match the ID....

I've been killed before by pirates using Police tags... simply to give the trader a false sense of security.

To the grave if I must
Because it’s flag that I love
And a flag that I trust

Not that hard to get rid of them. Shoot the police and interspace depots outside Newark station. That will drop your relation ship with them in a snap! :P
