Allow me to introduce myself;
My name is Mordecai.
Im dreadfully sorry to contact you using such a low-quality transmission, but, as I am about to tell you, the circumstances under which I contact you are not exactly desirable.
I represent a small group of independent pilots - some holding their own allegiances, others in business for themselves - who have, under a number of different circumstances, decided to work together to eke out a niche in this rather rough-and-tumble reality that we live in, today.
We do this in a way in which Im sure you can relate - the recycling of junk. Or, rather the larger bits of junk left behind by wrecked stations and storage depots.
We have lived in a number of places, as of late. One notable spot was a large habitation module in Pennsylvania, which was rendered useless when it dipped into the exosphere of the planet it was in orbit of. We then moved to a backup area we had renovated months earlier - only to have constant Xeno patrols compromise the internal structure of the slew of wrecks we had occupied. After an impromptu evacuation of our handful of ships, we spread out from each other for several weeks, before happening upon a great find.
That find - the nearly intact Junction Station - is where I contact you from, today. The former occupants of this "wreck" - the NTF - had nearly finished repairing the base to full operational capacity, before they were routed, due to the threat they posed to Liberty. We have currently taken up residence in the control tower.
However, before we pushed into the main habitation module, we ran into a problem; the entirety of the station's main module is flooded with high amounts of radiation. Apparently, when the NTF evacuated, some kind of damage was done to the reactor. Of course, when the power grid was shut off, this posed no problem. However, now that the grid has returned to full functionality, the reactor has simply been spewing radiation throughout the habitation module.
This is very, very bad for us.
The control tower upon which we have been docked and have lived on is currently running solely on stored air and food supplies. Eventually, these air supplies will run out - both those on our ships and in this tower. Same with the food supplies.
However, there is a solution; within the irradiated habitation module, there is a hydroponics suite, standard on stations for several centuries. If we can access this, we can return oxygen recycling and food production capabilities to the station.
Of course, this means that we'll have to repair the reactor and flush the module. But, due to our meager supplies, we cannot penetrate the radiation to repair it from the inside, without killing ourselves.
Thus, we come to you with a request; A single model of your Combat Service Freighter. However, we dont simply require a base model; no, we require this particular model to have some form of above-average radiation shielding, especially near the cockpit and salvage tools located towards the front of the craft. If we are to get close to the reactor, we require as such.
There is no need for such a ship to be delivered, if you do choose to produce it. We will stockpile what fuel we have onto my vessel, and I will travel to any place in Liberty to attain the vessel.
Before you do this, I must warn you - we are not the most scrupulous people. We neither work on the lawful side, nor totally lean towards the unlawful side. But, at some point, if you do deliver us this ship, it will be used in unsavory action.
However, right now, we need it to save our lives.
We're willing to pay any amount needed. We've stockpiled a good deal of funds towards this effort, and will use this station's rudimentary facility to transfer those funds to any account you designate.
One final note, Congressmen; if the lives of honest men and women trapped in the middle of nowhere concern you not, we do have one Junker amongst are number; in fact, it was her who directed me towards contacting you. If you will not accept my offer to save our lives, I hope you will accept it to save hers.
This console seems to be wearing down a bit. The display screen is flickering a bit, and it's making some odd noises.

It's not as much a special order as you might think. All CSF's, CSV's, and collectors are build to withstand heavy radiation. It's kind of a necessity for the work we do. I can't say much about it other than that. We have a few CSF's and collectors at Rochester. I'll send an authorization to the dealer there for you to purchase one. Keep up the good work.
I am sorry to hear that your recovery efforts in the Kansas system have met with near disaster. I am however thrilled to hear that our wise brethren in the Congress have allowed you the use of a modified Combat Service Freighter.
Should you require any further logistical or technological support for your reclamation efforts, feel free to contact the [collectors]. We have a variety of salvage and recovery craft at our disposal, as well as considerable hauling capacity embodied in the organization's CSF's and Transports.
If you wish to contract with us for regular material and logistical support, we would be delighted to establish a shipping contract with you in order to keep you supplied with food, fuel, raw materials, and manufactured goods.
I look forward to your reply sir.
-Sincerely,
Dave Harris of the [collectors], Master of the Oberon
