Special equipment:

Deflector Shield.

Deflects incoming energy bolts. Deflects them directly back at attacker with some degree of spread.
Does not affect ballistics eg: Missiles.

Fire once, uses up all energy. Active for 5 seconds. Power core remains empty for 7 seconds (since fire) before resuming recharge.

On how to implement...I have no clue. I don't think FLHook can go *that* far.
Perhaps use the physics of those tiny asteroids in asteroid fields that hit your ship and flies off in another direction?

Apart from it being interesting, balance wise? How?

There are few carriers, few such electro warfare ships. And having just few have it is meh.

Idea: have those EW ships have their engine turned off when they activate the advanced systems; it will help balance the impact on the fights, because the ship itself is a sitting duck and allies have to remain nearby if they want to take advantage of the bonus. Expecially with capital ship battles, we would maybe see no more nonsensical battleship dogfights, but fleet formations around their respective command vessels, shooting each other at artillery distance, like it's meant to be, while fighters and bombers perform raids on the enemy formation and then fall back.

I asked Aeternus Doleo about this idea, and he says its possible, but a balancing and coding nightmare.

Nice to know it can be done, so maybe someday, when we get more devs.
