It goes on to say that there is no specific rule on ID and IFF combos, assuming they fulfill reasonable criteria.
Someone posted this:

Now I wonder how would that work out with the example I gave. Cause if people can not use other IFFs for that purpose, they can just fly around with no IFF so the piracy targets see them as white all the time.[/i][/indent]
I asked "So while that works for the guy trying to sneak up on someone, how can the trader/target make himself hostile to these persons so he see's them as hostile (red)?"
The response was:

So my question is this. Can we make them show up as hostile?
I understand it's not currently possible but could it be?
Theres clearly a logical reason to fix your IFF machine to read non identifiable targets as hostile so is it something that could be done on the server and is it something we would want?
I'd like to have made a simple 'yes' or 'no' poll but I'm a bit incapable sadly.
I dunno, while I can somewhat see the use of it, it is something I'd want to be able to toggle cause I wouldn't want it on all of my ships (if any) and I'm not sure that's possible.

I'd love to see them apply how it works with NPCs to actual players. If you CD/shoot them enough, they turn hostile temporarily.
This would help so much in Freelancer IFF fights. Where all your enemies are green, and thus cannot be toggled through by selecting closest enemy, instead you waist 3/4/5 seconds trying to click on their ship. Or if you use your object window, having to try to click on their name while a bunch of NPC ships shift around on the list aswell...
