I always thought that Blood Dragons are the radical ones here. Shogunate was radical, Samura took over the goverment and established KNF, Blood Dragons were forced out of Kusari and the new goverment is being slowly influenced by foreign influence, therefore slowly moving towards liberal direction, signing deals with foreigners, allowing Bounty Hunters move further in their space. They hate Bounties, but they do pretty damn good job:D
Well, I don't really know.. This is the closest thing :
Quote:New Tokyo is a vibrant world with centuries of history and some of the most advanced technology in the colonies. It is also a culture in transition, as bureaucrats and corporations wrestle with the best ways to manage the rapidly increasing pace of change. To accomplish this difficult task, the Kusari ruling body, the Shogunate, works closely with corporate keiretsu -- such as Samura and Kishiro -- to advance the interests of the Empire while safeguarding the heritage of the Kusari people.
It mentions 'Shogunate', but it also mentions 'Empire', so my guess is that Shogun is the Emperor.
And I don't think he's overthrown, perhaps before in History?
Like, 100 years before Nomad wars? Maybe, I can't find it right now..
But it certainly has an emperor.. Now, was the last one overthrown, I have no idea!

ok, I went into SP and went to Kyoto to see if I could find anymore info on this stuff. I found a few intresting tidbits, and I think I may have peiced a bit of the story together.
About 5 Centuries ago, the Emporor (Whom the BD served) was overthrown. I belive it was a combination of the Forces of Samura and the Hogosha(:D) that brought down the Emporor. The Shoganate was established, a council of elected officals (a parlement). I assume the Shogun is either a) the name of the head of the council, or b) the new name of the government ( example, before the US was the Nation the United States, it was named the Confederated States of America and call "The Confedation, named for the Articals of Confederation. this was from 1778 to 1788 I belive.)
Either way the "Shoginate" is elected by the people of Kusari, so it would apear public opinion is on the side of Hososha, FA, and Samura. That would be a logical reason why KNF would support who they do.
Another tidbit I found was that it is not Kishiro who funds the Blood Dragons, but instead the GMG who give the Blood Dragons training and money to help take control of the Hokkido system.
Yes, I knew that GMG trained Blood Dragons for fighting in Nebula.
So, it sounds logical. And the reason is certainly because they want to destroy Hogosha and Corsairs:)
Thanks for the info.

Quote:In a bloody coup during the celebration of the revived Sakura festival in 321 AS, the Shogun was surrounded in the palace by Samura-backed elements of the military and asked to surrender, along with the Royal Guard. The Shogun, humiliated by the shame he had brought his family, committed suicide. The guards, headed by Kozue Okamura, did not acquiesce so easily. In a bloody battle, they fought their way out of the palace and retreated into the darkness of northern Kusari space. Here they regrouped and began a long guerrilla campaign aimed at overthrowing the Samura-controlled Kusari government
It confirms Zelot's stories, but it's good for detail lovers:)
Maybe these things deserve to be inserted in our FL wikipedia history?
I'v seen some dates there, and this one looks pretty important.
