Your impression is good enough that I didn't try to murder you via internet for saying that. Kudos! Anyhow, Kusari explorer might be what you're after, its a GB-type that's pretty, rugged, even called an explorer, and if I remember correctly it was sold as a promotion (like low-end fighters are).
