There's been a bit of discussion lately so here's my thoughts on the Discovery stuff for the torp mount:
Inferno OK with this. Balanced, expensive, and requires a good rep with a pirate faction to purchase. The fact that not many use it tells me it's an exotic.
Nova Also OK with this, even though one shot has destroyed my bs shield on a couple of occasions. I know some think it's too powerful, but I like the idea of a fighter weapon to be feared. Also, as Igiss said earlier, before Nova was introduced hardly anyone was flying a fighter. Maybe make the ammo more expensive, lose it with player looting, or reduce the damage/radius slightly.
Sidewinder I think it was Dab that said this is a 'noob' weapon. I can see why. Don't have a problem in principle, I suggest changing the refire to 0.5 or even 0.25 (I think it's 2.00 at the moment).
Swarm Arrgghh mega lag weapon. I hate this now. The concept isn't bad, but I always thought it should have ammo for a limited use. Suggest reducing refire to 20, increasing damage slightly. A 70 ammo capacity would then make this OK.

I agree, but I dont feel the use of ammo with the Swarm would help, maybe slowing the refire, making it use more on the energy side and increasing the damage slightly.
Sidewinders, I think should be fighter trackers, having a much faster speed, using alot of energy, and doing enough damage to do serious damage to the hull, and not the shield.

Thats a shame about the sidewinder. A perfect air to air missile .. Maybe a little powerful
but that could have been balanced. I would rather have seen the swarms go... You need
shades on when you release a pack of those, and half the time they don't deal the
damage indicated on their stats. .....

I agree about the sidewinder but my biggest problem with the swarm is it tends to hit friendly npcs alot and then you have to fight off friendlies as well as enemies, and the damage it does is so small its not worth really using as a torp mount, I think it would work alot better with an 8.99 refire rate (same as lazer weapons) with a damage increase

The only problem with the Sidewinder is it's refire rate. Reduce from 2.00 to say, 0.5 and it will be fine.

Only problem with sidewinder is its class. Torpedo with homing stats better than stats of a missile - rather illogical... I'd probably return to the concept in newer mod versions, but Sidewinder will become a normal missile instead.

Torpedoes would be considered Air to Ground in an atmosphere. Meaning the closest would be hitting a battleship(Pretty stationary), which is the closest to Air to Ground you see in space.
