Ok... i guess now i really need admin help or some kind of technical wizardry - left it overnight and tried again this morning. It connected to the character screen quite quickly, but then sat there when i tried to enter with the "please wait" message - finally going back to the server list.
Clicking on the server again gave me the "A connection could not be established wit that server...." message..
SO basically, i can't connect to the server... full stop.
Can anyone offer some kind of help? Anyone admin or otherwise know if anything has changed on the server in the last 24 hours that could facilitate this?

double wierdness - i CAN connect to the Disco Berlin server.
Done a reinstall, rebooted, de-activated mod and re-activated. I can connect to the Berlin server, get to the load out screen in Manhattan though when i try to launch it disconnects. I can't connect to discovery at all - beyond the character loading screen after you select the server and hit connect. Right now the ping is between 400- 700 and that is the highest ping i have ever seen ever period - but even then, i have connected before at 650 ping with no problem. In the last 24 hours it has not dropped below 400, though i have connected and played plenty of times before at pings of 450 - 480.
I dont have a router, i direct connect to broadband through the wall. I have changed no settings on my computer - have not had this problem at all before the last 24 hours. If its temporary - it's taking a long time to resolve and i am at a complete loss as to what to do about it.
Help!!!!??? admins? boffins???? - has something actually changed with the server? is it blocking people with high ping? has anything else changed?
basically I'm out of the game until this problem goes away.
