Hm, not yet. It's apparently some bug in the latest FLHook version which we need to run stable with more then 128 players. So unless someone is able to look in the source codes of the FLHook, they probably won't work.
Methinks the time draws near where forum registration might become a very necessary evil...
If the main problem we have with crashes and lag stems from modders and cheaters, it might be a lot less work to use your forum password as your key to disco... not sure if this is possible but it would mean that a forum ip ban is a ban full stop.
If our Admins are consistently busy hunting down hackers, this is something that tends to get worse, not better!
I know this has been brought up before but I think we should really have a look at it as an option.
...playing BF2142 became a nightmare because of the anticheat software in the end. You end up getting banned just for surfing the wrong websites!
It's a stinky virus that has to be killed at it's source!
Methinks that if our gate is our forums, we can stem the tide so to speak..
The question is - is our mod capable of having an ip based password system? ,and can we use forum passwords for this?
As far as I know there can only be 1 password per server, not per user. It would have to be posted somewhere on forums and it would obviously spread among players fast so it could help just temporarily, I am afraid. Or it would have to changed regularly, which would cause a lot of whining. I don't think this is a way we should go...

these 'ere forums ...
Little lag now and again, or no play at all ? You choose ...
it's not really about "little lag" but about lag than doesn't allow fighter pvp in more than 1vs1. With about 130 people on I have absolutely no lag at all (hitting NPCs with 9/10 missiles).
But as Majkp says I believe it can be that it's not the server hardware that causes more lag.. but half players from Europe (with ping 1-70) and half from US (150-250) during certain hours.
How much would the (~20) players spamming login requests harm the server I have no idea.
EDIT: The Eta example from friday yes... first part of fight... some 10 vs 9 with 170 people on... lag that made it impossible to hit with guns (missiles were completely useless), then crash... then 6vs5 people with 130-140 people on .... no lag at all (about 8 mini razor hits on hull on dodging fighters from different people)
