This actually happened to a Freighter I was escorting today. There isn't much he could've done to prevent it, since we never would've guessed this would've happened, as he simply used the "Form up" button with the NPC to jump into the lane with it. And then the guy complained about having lost the last of his savings, which I rightfully understand.

Is it possible to prevent ramming damage from NPCs? I mean, it's annoying enough to lose the equivalent of 4 or 5 Bots when you keep ramming into Hostile (or even Friendly ones for that matter...) NPCs during PvP, they even cause the bane of new players flying small freighters!

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

Wow, how fast was he going to pancake like that? I bet he must have hit one of the new Titanic shipping patrols too.

If you re-enter a disrupted tradelane without shields and the server is about 100 ppl online, you prolly gonna die.

I support this. I'm tired of being in PvP fights in a fighter and taking immense damage from the dozens of NPCs flying into me.

I've also noticed that capitals that collide with snubs take hull damage instead of the snubs. Something's wrong there.

I say make ramming damage shields again, and Up damage so I can prime my novas and fly my bargy into a dunkirk, taking it out in a kamikazi run.

My bomber exploded inside a gunboat, because I entered the tradelane right after him.

I've noticed that if you enter shortly after an NPC or shortly before the lane tries to put both you and the NPC in the same spot, this almost killed my Cruiser due to a freighter.

You'll find NPCs are invulnerable to collision damage.
You'll also find that this can't easily be fixed.

You can lower collision damage in constants.ini, but this will work all across the game, from player-player collisions, to player-object collisions.

To answer the original question; Not really, without removing the problem and everything related to it in it's entirety.
