you only joined in January and something is to your dislike you started this thread.
again this is a trial by forums and i hate that, the history is written and now you ask for it to be changed, you can not change history no matter how hard you try.
this idea is wrong and should not be allowed to continue, next you will be asking for the Keepers/Phantoms/Scra/NovaPG to change, its sick and should not be allowed, maybe look at your own roleplay before you look at others?
Cheers
I think some of the newer people here are better than some of the older people here, from popular opinion and my own experience of these people. Instead of looking at the speck of dust in someone else's eye, look at the plank in yours eh?
Moving swiftly onwards (and perhaps backwards in the next few posts) :
Hypocrisy is a problem. We all know it. Whether some choose to ignore it and others try to treat it the only way they can, its still there. Denying that it isn't there doesn't change the fact that it is. And its the truth.
For instance, I can not see the original TBH faction proposal getting anywhere if it were submitted now. A questionable RP story coupled with a string of phonetically spelt words and an invisible shiplist consituted the original proposal, but hey, look where we are today. We got in (we wouldn't if the same one was available today), and we're going strong.
Bad starts don't always mean bad endings. So we have two solutions.
1. Either relax the RP a little, allow some flexibility with the odd YANF slipping through here and there.
2. Or we review all the factions that didn't go through the stringent regulations brought in by the admins to curb YANF's
Two clear choices, and none others in my view. Mixing them smells something bad too, but if there are other workable and fair solutions, then I would like to hear them. I would vote for number 1 personally, but both are better than the current situation, in my eyes.

As usual, Jinx is our shining beacon of light!
"Do unto others as you would have Jinx do unto you..."
Perhaps we shall call it the Niobium Rule.
my thoughts on this proposal
Every faction should be brave enough to post a "how are we doing" post every year. The BSG did it a while back - unfortunately that thread got a little 'flamy' but in between the snarky posts - that faction learned a few things and I think the Disco community was made better, But alas - that faction is dead now - but that is not the point.
Del, I understand that we have dusty's faction example, and many examples of what not to do, but how to reconcile those two sided would be very hard without some codified standards to hold factions to. I would suggest at this point, using what you said previously we would do when these reviews got to heated, lets take a few days off, let Del, put some more concrete ideas into his proposal, and then we come back and give a fair look at what he is proposing, but Del, I really don't see how this would work, unless the standards are written down for all to see and measure themselves against. I just tried to put together a list I would use, and found it very difficult. Aside from making sure ships and weapons are in RP, it is hard to go beyond that. AW for instance are supposed to be Zoners, but they have closer ties to the outcasts, and are much more hostile to corsairs (Dab not a complaint just using as an example). Now I think that would come under alot of scrutiny if this proposal were to go through, but their diplomacy and how it differers from the rest of the Zoners has lead to many great RP stories over the time they have been around. Also, I dint know how we go about critiquing faction story lines, I'm mean we all now when their really bad, but aside from that it is sort of just up to peoples opinions and how can we objectively qualify what makes a good story for a faction? There are just to many hazy points in this proposal for me right now, Del, take some days work on it and then repost if you think you can clarify the standard we would use, and the process we would use to implement those standards.
