You should do what feels right at the moment. In my opinion, the RM you interacted with when fighting the Wilde didn't really do himself any favors if he told you that the interaction had no RP. He should really trust that some kind of RP has taken place between the two of you and roll with it instead of saying he wouldn't support you for an OoRP reason. Likewise, I don't think the Wilde can really blame anyone for having any kind of view different than their own intentions of the interaction. If someone wants to play it differently, then hey, that's on them and all anyone can really do is Roleplay in response to the situation.
