turret zoom

Make the default magnification for turret view so the model is 50% of the model size in the 3rd person view. Right now each of the models seem to have a different default magnifcation in turret view, and some of them like the Orca and the Bret GB take up most of the screen, while some of the others are good. Pick a size and make them all the same please.

Allow it to be zoomed in and out another 200% from the default magnification. That would allow zooming out quite a bit but not to lame amounts, and would also let you zoom into your own model for close-ups (turret view looks directly at your ship and the surrounding space).
