I'm normally very Tech Savvy but this glitch has got me stumped. As of yesterday me and a friend chose to return to Discovery after a year and a half long break, I was able to get the game running just fine and am ready to start my new adventure but he's having... a bit of an issue ._.
Here's the details: He cleared out his old copy of the game cause he had to many mods installed and wasn't sure how it would affect things.
He then reinstalled exactly as he had before.
He installed the newest Discovery.
and tried to run the game.
This is where the issue comes in, the mod updates fine and gets itself started up, but after a second the screen just stays black, then flashes to a blue screen (not the BSOD as far as i can tell since it will "shut down") and a single message saying simply "Not Support!" is displayed.
At first I thought it was a compatibility issue so i had him change compatibility and toggle admin mode and such just to be sure, but it persisted, then I had him uninstall completely (user files and all) and reinstall a clean version of the game vanilla and see if that runs, to my surprise it had the exact same issue.
When the Blue Screen comes up no keyboard keys respond so he is forced to shut down the computer, (this is how I know it's not the BSOD since when he hits the power button it does through the shutdown process and sometimes he can cancel the shutdown and keep the computer running after it force quits the screen)

Help ASAP would be great I would really like to play on the server with him x.x
There are no accidents and no fatal flaws in the machines; there are only pilots with the wrong stuff.
well Damn ._. I fixed it myself and it was both simple and extremely complicated at the same time.
So after a bit of study on the net and going through some obscure gaming forums I found a few other people with the same issue, none of whom knew the fix. This got me frustrated but I really wanted to help my friend so i kept looking... 2 or 3 people later I noticed a pattern, every single person who had this issue used a HDTV for their monitor! Then it hit me, it wasn't a PC problem it was a problem with the monitor, the information wasn't being sent right.
SO i asked my friend to screen share on Skype and we could see exactly what was happening. To my surprise when he did this "poof" the game came up, I figured "oh problem salved" but he said all he saw was the blue screen. then bam, I realized... it's the resolution!
Long story short I sat there and through skype screen share lead him step by step into changing the resolution to it's max in the game. this instantly fixed the problem.
So for all you techs out there who ever run into this problem! it's the resolution settings, use either a second monitor or a second computer to guide the first.
