Greetings. I am the Guild Master Alan Smith on behalf of the IMG. This is an official channel between the Board of Guild Masters, the OSI leadership and the Zoner Dreadnought called Celestia, however it can be easily accessed by any other Zoner or Guild Member.


At 10th of May 819 A.S. a Corsair battlegroup assembled in Omega-49 and assaulted the FTU and Reaper bases which was constructed in the aforementioned and independent system. Not even a day before, the IMG was contacted by the OSI leadership regarding these bases and we accepted their request to contact these 2 groups in an effort to dissuade them and help them re-deploy their installations into a different system.


However our messages and efforts were in vain as a few hours later the Corsairs not even found both bases but also mobilized a whole battlegroup in order to destroy it. I am sure you know the sad events which followed afterwards with the massacre of the Reapers' base crew by the Corsair fleet. When we contacted these groups to send our condolences on their lost members, they accused several Zoners on actively assisting the Corsairs during the assault. This is where an official IMG investigation started on finding out what exactly happened that sad day.

The Guild wishes to know the reasons you co-operated with the corsair fleet and attacked the REAPER-17 base which resulted in the death of the crew onboard. Here is the evidence of your involvement: [1] [2]

Unlike the Celestia vessel, there are no solid evidence of OSI ships assaulting the station, despite the accusations by the Reapers that they did so. However their involvement and especially OSI's Trade Director, James Church, wasn't in any way insignificant as they didn't dissuade but even allowed the Zoner Dreadnought to continue it's barrage on the station. In the meantime, they also tried to order and obstruct other parties from interfering and stopping the assault of the Corsair fleet.

There were many good lives lost in this base that day. Unfortunately we cannot bring them back, but we will make sure they weren't lost in vain. The Independent Miners Guild humbly requests to know your side of the story in order to form a complete view of what happened that dreadful day.

Greetings Guild Master, the board has selected me to speak on their behalf. Firstly, the board wants to make it very clear that they will not speak on behalf of Captain Sehar and the crew of the Celestia or the captain and crew of the The_Consummate_V. I'm sure the Guild is aware that the Zoner community, unlike most others, is not a unified one. The board's ability to influence and control other Zoners stems from their respect of the company.

The second issue that I was to make clear is that Omega-49 is not an independant system. The Omega-49 system belongs to the Zoner community residing there; it has the same status as the systems of Baffin and Omicron-74. I'd assume the Guild has a nearly identical standpoint concerning Tau-39.

As for the involvement of Omicron Supply Industries in this tragedy. The board sought to avoid it; issueing multiple warnings to both parties. We've heard claims that OSI was responsible for revealing the locations of these bases to the Corsair fleet and I've been instructed to lay them to rest.

The locations of both bases were revealed by their owners; as neither party took the time to survey the system and get an understanding of the place. Neither party knew that in addition to Zoners living on Gran Canaria there are many Corsairs and Bretonians who reside on the planet. Both the FTU and the Reapers sent unencrypted transmissions on a public frequency out regarding their stations. I'd assume this is how the Corsair's learned of them.

Regarding the involvement of the Orinoco and Mr. Church; both were dispatched by the board. The Orinoco was dispatched to monitor the Corsair fleet as it posed a threat to Nichols Trade Center. The Orinoco did not join in on the assualt of either base. The captain of the Orinoco reported that the Celestia had joined the assault on the bases and returned to Nichols Trade Center.

Mr. Church was later dispatched to investigate that report. His report indicates that the Celestia was not at the site of the assualt when he arrived there and that Hessians, Reavers, and Mollys were present. His attempts to get the Reavers to cease attacking the Corsairs were due to the fact that OSI is known to employ the Reavers and the board did not wish to have the Corsairs thinking we hired the Reavers to attack them. I believe that when Mr. Church referred to an eviction order, he was referring to the board's warnings; clearly poor wording on Mr. Church's part.

The reason the board sent Mr. Church to investigate the Orinoco's report was due to the fact that the Celestia had a standing contract with OSI. The Celestia was acting as a test bed for a prototype jump drive that OSI had built and the contract stipulated that the Celestia was not to enter any combat operations unless in self defense. What the captain and crew of the Orinoco reported was a clear violation of that contract and the board terminated said contract on May 11th, 819 AS.

While we regret the loss of life, had our warnings been heeded the dead would still be counted among the living. It is my hope that others will learn from this tragedy when they move their people into the great void.

Thank you for your responce Mr Cross. We believe you have answered in most of the raised issues, however you still didn't explain why the OSI vessels allowed the Celestia and The_Consummate_V to assist the Corsair forces on destroying these bases.


We understand that the captain of Orinoco probably did not have the appropriate rank to do such thing, however that's not the case for OSI-Gytrash which was used by Mr James Church, your Trade Director. His unfortunate decision which assisted in the destruction of the Reaper base and the death of the crew onboard along with his position in the CoF entity clearly show that he is not a friend of the Guild. For that reason Mr Church is declared persona non grata by the Guild and he is forbidden from docking in any IMG installation.

The Captain and the crew of the Celestia vessel did not also respond in this message explaining why they did this. For that reason we have no choice but to declare that Zoner Dreadnought as an enemy of the Guild which will be shot in sight, should it approaches IMG assets.

As for the status of Omega-49, a few weeks ago it was also declared as Coalition territory. Furthermore, judging from the Corsair fleet that is residing somewhere inside there and also their ability to destroy any base they want, we believe this system is far from sharing the same status with Tau-39, Baffin or Omicron-74.


Omicron Supply Industries, even though there are implications due to Mr Church's high ranked position in your company, we believe this individual's actions and ill towards the IMG do not represent in any way the OSI. The Independent Miners Guild remains a friend of yours and we are always willing to renew and strengthen our relations.

Greetings, Guildmaster,

I read this report and found it disturbing. While there's little I can do on it, it does keep my more watchful of the place I call home, Omega 49 and Gran Canaria. I raise my family here and keep my practice here.

When I'm here, I consider myself a resident and doctor, not so much an Administrator. People can make all the claims they want but they carry little water with me. I long ago proposed all of Omega 49 be a no fire zone so that all who came would be guests. It was rejected. Hey, that's how I feel.

I consider the IMG to be good business people. As a Zoner, I prefer independent minded people so if I need some product and the IMG has it, I'll buy it from them first.

This transmission may not mean much but I just wanted to let people know that I'm watching and listening.

Dear Alan Smith

I think you are somewhat mistaken to my role in all of this my good sir. I do not particularly care that you have denied me docking rights at your stations, that is something that I can live with. I am just interested in clearing up some misunderstandings.

First of all the captain of the Celestia, one Joel Sehar was indeed contracted by OSI for some time, however I did in fact attempt to inform him via private communications that what he had done was out of line with his contract. He informed me, and I quote:

Then I guess my contract is over then. I'll return your jump drive tomorrow.

This is what lead me to disclaim him as one of "my" Zoner boys. Also as the director of trade for a Zoner shipping corporation... Yes we may be one of the more public faces of the Zoner community, I am certainly not in a position to give instructions to anyone who is not in the employ of OSI. Had Mr. Sehar chosen to honour the terms of his contract we would not he having this conversation.


Now onto the topic of my poorly worded message. Yes I did say "Eviction order". Yes it was a poor choice of words. There has recently been a good deal of tension in that system thanks to the SCRA kerfuffle and then those bases that seemed to spring up almost overnight. So you have my apologies for that.

Thirdly, my asking of the Reavers to back off. That was partly, as William said, due to the fact that OSI has at times retained the services of the Reavers, I did not wish for the corsairs to assume that we had hired the Reavers to attack them. On the other hand I had received word from Kalliste that the Reavers would not be shooting anyone except in self-defence in Omega-49. I'm not sure about you but what they were doing was most certainly not self-defence.

Something that you seem to be under the misapprehension of that I have already alluded to but will clarify for you just to be sure. OSI does not order anyone who is not an employee around. If they are not employed by OSI or contracted by OSI then they are not mine to give orders to. I could have ordered them to stop firing... but there would have been no point. Zoners are people who have left the houses in search of less restrictions and more freedom among the Borderworlds, Edge Worlds and Independant systems. Having myself left Bretonia for these reasons I can not in good conscience ask them to be bound as though citizens of a house under the authority of a police force and military to follow arbitrary rules.

Also for some strange reason my scans of the REAPER-17 base showed no human life signs, just some approximating tube worms. Perhaps you have an explanation as to why that could be?

Thank you Mr. Smith, the board has instructed Mr. Church to abide by the Guild's decree. Furthermore, in order to improve relations between the Guild and OSI we've decided that it would be best not to have Mr. Church be our representative when conducting business with the Guild. If a board member is required, someone other than Mr. Church will represent OSI in any future dealings with the Guild.
