I've noticed that almost everytime after I come back to play (after a few hours pause), my ship appears 1-2K above where it used to be when I logged off. Also when I log off, sometimes FL just doesn't want to go back to server screen unless I press escape (in which case I do get to server screen, but when I try to reconnect, it says account already in use on server). Just wanted to inform the modding team of these 'issues'.
You log out in space? Then your ship will F1-drift. That means, it will move above or below the plane. This was implemented to stop F1-mining and stuff like that. Also, when you log out in space the server won't let you back on for about a minute or so, in order to discourage F1ing out of interaction and stuff like that.
So, no bugs or anything. It's meant to be that way.

Issues are there on purpose.
F1ing causes drifting, you aren't supposed to be F1ing in space, a base is better.
After an F1, your ship still exists in game, without a shield. So if you do F1, people can still kill you. Only after a certain period of time then your ship disappears and you can log in again.
I thought it was done to prevent codefarming, mainly?
And yeah, what's possibly wrong with Heges F1'ing out in mining field? That's way more in-Roleplay then moving a Hegemon to and from the base when you want to mine something.
Those ships are designed to stay in field for weeks, if not for months, not fly forth and back in an asteroid field, with their size. Look at all those stationary asteroid miners.
