Yesterday, we build an extension to Ames, and today some people who flight under the Xenos Flag without being them decided to attack the station. Maybe the LAWL-syndroms.
You acted right by defending it. However the station system took some shoot and considered you as hostile.
That's why the defense fleet targeted you.

Hopefully you ship was only disabled.
We hope your crew wasn't injured during the process.
