Greetings to our allies, the Scorians.

I heard that you have problems replenishing your damaged ships crews so I ordered some of our Research-AIs to work on that problem.
They have found a solution but it is yours to decide if you will accept the offer.

We researched on "Mindcopies" which can be saved with the DNA of the person in large Crystal Data Storages. 
If the individuum dies we can clone the DNA and create the same person in about 2 Standard hours. After the body is ready we implant the Mindcopy into it
and the individuum is back living although our AI s still philosophize if it is the same person then.
We tested it on captured human prisoners and it worked on them. To finish the project and make it available to Scorians, we need a living Scorian to be scanned in an AI Ship. We are looking forward to a reply.

Greetings
If a copied person is the same person is a question which cannot be answered. The person will act and feel like the person.
Of course the mindcopy is safer because you dont have to find the brain of the person. To keep a mindcopy updated, you would have to do daily/weekly copies.
As a compromise we could combine both methods so that if the brain is still intact it can be implanted in a fast-grown cloned body and if the brain is not intact the mindcopy will be implanted in the body.
If you agree to this we will order one of the AI Shipyards to create a AI-Controlled Factory Ship which stores the CDS (Crystal Data Storage) for the Mindcopies and has the ability to clone bodies. Also it would be able to copy a damaged brains information into a CDS and examine the brain if it is too damaged to be copied in a body anymore. We would need your data to the 'mind preserving/conscience swap' to finish it.
