Connection issues?

We're both playing in the same house hes on a laptop im on a PC. . . would the fact we're on the same IP Inhibit my ability to connect? i cant get in at all now

I don't know why does the server kick you out, although I can guess. But, all in its time.
However, I do know why you can't connect together. My dad and I have had the same problem. You're right, it's because of the same IP address. Here's how we've solved it:

1) Both start FL and get to the server list;
2) restart your modem;
3) Click the "connect" button at closely the same time;
4) if that don't works, click it after your brother. It sometimes needs to be clicked at the same time, while sometimes not. I don't know why;
5) if you get to the server list again in order to choose a new account, don't worry. It's safe. However, if you base idle, or the server crashes, you'll have to do all of this again.

Also, this used to work as well:
1) Restart your modem;
2) start FL;
3) click the "internet" button at the same time. Here, it must be clicked at the same time;
4) choose the server and click "connect" also at the same time;
5) now you may proceed without any worries. Just take care that you don't base idle, or that the server doesn't fall, or you'll both have to repeat this.

Now, why does it kick you out in every 2 minutes?

I suppose you manage to log in, but then one of you undocks from a base. Then, the other one gets kicked out. After, that one logs in again, but by that he kicks the other one out. The before mentioned procedure could fix that.

Oh, and also - you've posted this in Flood forum. It's not used for asking questions like this one. More for screwing around, trolling, killing your time, etc. Better post it in the help requests.

And i know it was the improper place but i wasnt quite sure if connection issues were appropriate for the other thread i had found, so i decided id rather improperly post here than anywhere else >.< And sorry about all the bumps, was just very frustrating to finally bring someone to discovery and not have it work for hours ://
