I have to agree that i do miss the old ramming damage thing and would love to see the whole bigger ships make bigger booms thing. I can also agree that battle transports such as the Bison, a personal favorite, can hold its own against most ships up to gunboat class and can even take out Liners (Ive done this once with interesting WTF results) I think that sertain types of transports should be given at least 1 well placed Battleship class turret for heavy defence at an understandable energy reduction for its use. as for the whole Trolls sitting in lanes waiting to do their thing, I think there should be some sort of "Better Defense" on the lanes so that should they be hostile to the area, then they have to worry about when they finally catch someone, that theyve already put a sizeable dent in their Shield Battery supply makeing it easyier for ships to make them go boom.
i personally dont mind getting stopped by Pirates AS LONG AS ITS WITH GOOD RP but when i get a"Cut your engines" then a "give me 50 mill or kiss your ship goodby" im thinking, "REALLY, I'M HAULING SIMPLE BORON" then i get ticked and end up haveing to wait 4 hours to re enter New York which is where most of my legal ships are out of.
your thoughts?

The 4 hour rule doesnt apply to traders last time I checked. But I do agree with you, Bison is my favorite also, but would be better to see Gunboat turrets on it. At least 6. I know the Salvager has GB Turrets, but with normal Transport turrets, you cant really kill a GB which can TS. Id say let Bison have 8 GB Turrets, but only Basic GB Turret, no house.

Traders are not exempt from the 4 hour rule, and no the bison is fine the way it is, cause if it has gunboat turrets then its just a gunboat with a larger cargo hold.
Edit: Why is this thread still alive?
I'm new to this server. My first encounter with other players was when I was stopped by pirates in Shikoku. I scrambled for the server commands list where I knew I had seen a command to give money. When I tabbed back in, the pirates engage in conversation. They played a little game with me, which I didn't win and after that charged 500.000 credits.
I payed and jumped into the next system only to receive 5.000.000 credits back from the pirate.
The only reason I even had a single thought of installing this game again after almost 10 years was due to seeing "Discover Freelancer RP 24/7"
I joined that pirate. We try our hardest to spread some role playing to those we meet. We've had plenty of enjoyable friendly and unfriendly encounters with heavy RP. Sure, we probably have a majority of people who don't say much (could be because they are unused to RP) or people who downright don't want to RP.
The nice RP encounters usually weigh heavier than the rest. They don't always, however, and even we find it frustrating at times when we talk to a police who seems to be RPing but is actually just stalling as 10 capitals log on in the area and go "Pirate, you die!". We have decided to stick with it tho, since we know it is up to us and other players to bring more RP to the game.

Where do I sign up, I'd love to be a Angel?
As to the rest of the subject matter, yes I agree; there are some idiots on the server, but most of the time things can be sorted out via a PM. I've lost count of how many traders I've recruited into Bowex from a PM!
