The 107th Bomber squadron, also known as Die Stukas by it's pilots, is a volunteer unit of the Volksmarine (Peoples Navy). Pilots are typically civilians with previous military service records and backgrounds. Many of them serving or working upon various vessels of the Rheinland corporations during their normal civilian lives. The Volksmarine are called upon in times of need to reinforce or assist regular Rheinland Military units, or to take over the security of home systems whilst the fleet serves further afield. They may also be called upon to defend and escort trade vessels within Rheinland or to intercept and destroy unlawfuls and enemies of the Fatherland. Some over zealous elements of the Volksmarine (especially Die Stukas) have been known to mount lightning raids across the frontier systems into Liberty space, singling out and destroying enemy shipping and capital ships. These pilots have become known as Blitz-Jager amongst their comrades. Although such raids are officially frowned upon by the High Command, little is done to discourage them due to their undeniable frequent successes.
Pilots of 107th Die Stukas, and the Volksmarine in general, are not permanently stationed on base. They live normal lives, working normal jobs. When the call goes out to assemble, they respond rapidly, sometimes reaching full operational status in a matter of hours. Corporations employing members of the Volksmarine are required by law to release the pilots from their duties and to assist them in any way they can in returning to their assigned bases.
Geschwader designation and Operational Status:
Ship Identification: Rheinland Military Identify Friend Or Foe Software: Rheinland Military Unit designation: STUKA| Base Of Operations: Brandenburg Flugplatz, Planet Hamburg.
Operational assets: 107 Geschwader is divided into 2 staffel. The Sturzkampfstaffel is the main bomber force. Pilots typically fly the Bergelmir and Fanfnir class bombers.
Fighter escort is supplied by the attached Jagdstaffel when no regular Military fighter cover is available. The Jagdstaffel have been assigned a small number of Phantom, Valkyrie and Wraith class fighters.
Regulations and standing orders:
The 107th is bound by the following regulations, as laid out by the Volksmarine High Command and Rheinland Military Command;
All pilots are bound by the rules of engagement governing regular Rheinland forces. These rules are hardwired into the vessels ID core programming for easy reference on the fly.
All pilots are expected to obey the commands of regular Rheinland Military officers and to take no action that interferes or impedes regular forces in the course of their duties.
All pilots are obliged and oath bound to observe and uphold the laws of Rheinland. Found HERE. Including enforcing and maintaining the current trade embargo with Liberty.
Continuing from above; All pilots should be aware of the Rheinland criminal database and it's contents. Found HERE.
Pilots are obliged and oath bound to defend the Rheinland systems, Rheinland Corporations and their assets. Any citizen of Rheinland is to be accorded assistance, escort and/or protection whilst within the recognised borders should they request it.
Pilots are expected to cooperate with any members of the Rheinland Federal Police in civil matters not pertaining to the Liberty conflict.
Raids into the frontline systems of Hudson and Bering or beyond, by any member squadrons of the Volksmarine are strictly forbidden! You hear that? Strictly forbidden! High command do no wish to hear reports of bomber squadrons reaping havoc in Texas..............So don't file the reports.
Enlistment:
Enlisting in Die Stukas is a relatively painless experience. Prospective pilots must be citizens of Rheinland and should report to their nearest Volksmarine enrollment office where they will be supplied their ship designation and ID. Typically for example; STUKA|Heinrich.Bauer. Upon applying the ID to their vessel, prospective pilots should contact any available Die Stuka pilot who will gladly put them through their paces and get them bomber certified.
Squadron Roster:
Sturzkampfgeschwader 107. Planet Hamburg
Callsign STG 107 Squadron Commander. Ground based: Oberstleutnant Victor Von Richthofen.
The Non Rp part. Ok this is nothing new as you will know if you have been following the exploits of the Rogue Torpedoes. If you've not, then you should be. I actually toyed with this idea a year or so ago when I last played, I was going to base it on the Liberty Navy back then but there's too much action there as it is. And why should liberty have all the fun? I went with rheinland to allow me to use the term stuka, I have always had a soft spot for those classic aircraft.
The premise behind this is as mentioned, a volunteer unit. I don't expect members to play the character to the exclusion of all others or to put in a certain level of activity. The idea behind it is to play it as it's described, jump on your STUKA as required to defend the home systems, assist the RM with bomber support if needed, or just log on for a break from other things. Do some training flights (missions) with others, Rp a border patrol, escort some local traders or if really adventurous, conduct a blitz across the border into Texas etc. Then when you've had your bit of excitement, go back to your 'civilian life' and dazzle your friends and co-workers with tales of your heroic exploits. One small point, always always always help the Rheinland corporations and players out if they ask. Scouting, escort, guarding ops etc. I want people to be glad to see the STUKA tag around and not just see us as a bunch of RM wannabes doing whatever we please. The squadron serves Rheinland. Do not ask for payment as it's out of Rp in some ways but you can quite happily accept a personal 'donation' for your work if offered.
This faction will be typically informal. There are no joining requirements other than notifying me so I can update the roster, creating your character and getting in game. I will help where I can with sorting out rep for anyone. You will need at least a little work on guard rep to be able to purchase your bomber. The rules I have placed are to be followed, this is not a merc unit or other lawless mob. It's a group of patriotic, overly keen and fanatically zealous weekend warriors who have an unswerving loyalty to the Fatherland as it were. I will not tolerate any breach of the rules and regulations.
Callsigns above are for organisational purpose only. Characters should simply be named STUKA|<first name>.<Last name>. Characters in a fighter should be named STUKA|<initial>.<Last name>[JG]
I would like to have members belonging to other Rheinland corporations, just to add that volunteer feel to things.
Diplomatic stance should be obvious. This is a Rheinland military faction and the terms of that ID are to be obeyed.
This is not a faction proposal put here for approval. It is merely a statement detailing what Die Stukas are and what they are about. So if you see the tag ingame then you will know. I am not interested as to whether you think it a good idea or not. I am however always open to suggestions and ideas for improvement. At present though I am more concerned with creating a presence on the server before getting into the more Rp oriented side of things. Having some fun is the most important factor here, but without causing any conflict or grievance to others in the game and community.
That's really about it for now, I'll see how things go and flesh out the info as required.
UPDATE: Have 'purchased' the tag STUKA| So to create a character you will need to use the /renameme command but contact me beforehand for the tag password.

Effective immediately. The unit roster has been updated. Unteroffizier Fritz Rammstein has passed general selection. His name has been added to the unit roster and he is granted full operational status with Die Stukas.
I trust he will continue to uphold the tradition of honour, valour and impeccable conduct that has become the hallmark of our Geschwader. Squadron command will be watching Herr Rammstein's career closely and looks forward to hearing favourable reports of his conduct and actions

Achtung! Roster updated to show newest recruit, Unteroffizier Sofie Gotlieb. Your ship assignment has been sent to you and you are granted operational status as of this moment. Welcome to 107 Geschwader.
From The Office Of 107 Geschwader CO. Subject: Jagdstaffel Attachment FAO:All pilots. RM. RFP. Citizens Of Rhineland
Achtung! Effective immediately. 107 Sturzkampfgeschwader now has an attached fighter group. This was necessitated by the lack of fighter cover available to our bomber pilots during the course of operations. Volksmarine command have decided that reliance upon regular Rheinland forces to supply such cover is both unrealizable and impractical.
Pilots of the newly formed Jagdstaffel fly under the same unit designator as the Sturzkampstaffel, with the addition of a [JG] signifier. Hence STUKA|V.Richthofen[JG] is easily distinguished from his kameraden in the bomber staffel.
It is our hope that this newly formed staffel will attract new pilots to the Geschwader who are more comfortable in fighter class ships. Our bomber pilots are also free to ask for a fighter designation in addition to their bomber. This kind of multi-role service is to be encouraged.
