Hello, i have a few questions about traveling rules / piracy rules
A few days ago i was robbing cargo ships / Demanding credits in order for them to survive and move along. (on my lanehacker character) of course. So anyhow someone complained that i wasnt allowed to go to london to do act my piratebusiness and i was wondering if this is true ?
so i checked wiki on IDs and this is what i came up with
And it seems like it didn't say anything about what zone not to go too. or zones your not allowed to be in, only the Primary territory which is the area your suppose to be in the most. which i am. and the second example of this is here:
My second question: Is there any certain Role player types that aren't allowed to travel freely ? or are you allowed to travel anywhere you feel like it, as long as you follow the Role play for your character ? i mean as long as you aren't breaking any server rules?
Thanks for replying, So far ive had some really great server Experiences
(Yes im pretty new) Anyhow, cheers
I was the BPA) who cleared you off from New London a few days ago; meant to mention this to you but only really occurred to me after you'd logged off.
As it says on your ID, you can only engage ships (before or after piracy) "within Liberty and the Independent Systems bordering Liberty. Or one system beyond a system containing a Hacker base". This gives you Manchester and Shikoku, but not New London.
On almost every ID, you can fly anywhere you want to within the server rules, but you won't be allowed to pirate/shoot people there. BPA can do a prison convoy to Rheinland with permission, but if they tried to police some Corsairs there they'd be out of ZoI.
The only exceptions are stated on the IDs that have them, such as Order caps not being brought into systems with a jumpgate and Reapers of Sirius not leaving the Omegas or Omicrons.
As another note, it's not very sporting or interesting to spin around Solar objects or jump repeatedly through a gate in a fight.
I guess its not very sporting or intresting but if that was real life, and i was a pirate chased by 2 spaceships, i pretty much do anything to survive or in any way make the pilots tired enough to be eliminated in combat. And thats my friend is how i roleplayed. and in the end justice was served upon me.
Anyhow, Good luck in game and thanks again for replying. +1
Quote:Can engage pirates, terrorists and lawfuls within Liberty and the Independent Systems bordering Liberty. Or one system beyond a system containing a Hacker base.
i don't think this line is about piracy limitation but more about shooting players without a credit/cargo demand in lane hacker zone of influence
-pirates for robbing traders in your territory
-lawfuls[police/navy] and terrorists-well..this is obvious why
so you might be free to pirate everywhere..
People want to believe that God has a plan for them.
They don't wanna believe that anyone else does..
Look at your id (Lane Hacker ID)
It says:
May engage in piracy. Can engage pirates, terrorists and lawfuls within Liberty and the Independent Systems bordering Liberty. Or one system beyond a system containing a Hacker base.
Cannot ally with any military, police, or corporate players.
Cannot use any transport with more than 4,300 cargo.
So that means you cant pirate 2 systems from a Hacker base, but still you can have piracy one system from a hacker base. So if theres a Hacker base in Kusari (theoretically) we could pirate there. But does it count for player bases? I don't think its sure for one building a Hacker base in far-off Rheinland and pirating there.
There's two rules on that ID being talked about here. First is "May engage in piracy", second is "May engage (as-in fight) pirates, terrorists and lawfuls ... blah.... blah... blah...".
I see the distinction between these as you can pirate anywhere but can only actually fight someone within that 1-system leeway. I know it's pretty useless to pirate someone when you can't actually engage them, but y'never know how lucky you'll get ^_^.
But what if a Bounty Hunter being chased by a Hacker in Magellan, Bounty Hunter go to Manchester, and hacker can go because its one system away from Magellan (have a Hacker base) but if Bounty Hunter go to New London the hacker cant pursuit him.
