...so for some reason I've decided that Flood is the appropriate place to post this
Anyway I've been playing a lot of Disco lately and I've noticed that a lot of times when travelling you'd just be alone in a system watching your engine glow, listening to the whirr, and there are a lot less engagements/interactions than there oughtta be. Now this causes a few problems, for one- it limits the expansion of the universe, as expanding it would mean people are even more spread out and therefore player encounters are less likely to happen and two, there's apparently a decline in the disco userbase, and what I think we should try to do is to market the game better in some way.
I'm thinking, maybe once a few weeks a fleet of camera ships will roam Sirius, frapping/dxtory-ing interesting things that happen within the game, and piece them together into say a monthly 40 minute documentary piece or somethin, because from what I can tell, a lot of Disco players who RP actively are brilliant writers, and the entertainment provided by some of the unscripted interactions between players rivals that of TV dramas, and filming this footage and/or adapting this into entertainment could seriously help increase the number of people playing disco if done well.
so... I dunno, because there isn't particularly any super high quality disco stuff on youtube at the moment, a movie series showing off all of the aspects of the game could really get more people interested.
So is a official disco documentary fleet a viable method of increasing the disco userbase? I'd like to think so. (P.S. a series of let's plays on Day Z by frankieonpcin1080p is what got me into Day Z, and I would imagine videos of Disco could do the same to potential newcomers)
Just my two cents.
No atmosphere? GTFO.
The propeller is the greatest invention of all time.
If you find those camera fleet...
It's very easy to make ( 1 hour work actually), but we need those who will speak (commentators?).
When there's nobody online some nice music can be played, that's it.
EDIT: oh nvm< you spoke about videos
