That ID is usefull since any player states "toaster in sight...scrap it" nad this really makes things easyer for the AI comunity. If you really want to fight the BHG get a cruiser and park it next to one of theyr ships...you wont have to wait more than 2 minutes to be shot at...easyly as that...AI's are more unwelcome than most Nomads/Khara

The main reason the AI ID is so odd / limited is that there's no real, tangible AI community. There's random people with random AI ID'd ships that behave in completely different (random?) ways with completely different backgrounds. Some are human-made. Others are convinced they're all from the same planet if they use that ID, and so forth.
The way to go, in my opinion, is to either scrap the whole AI ID and shipline, or to set up an (official) faction that gives them some lore background that is widely accepted.

Err. I've seen plenty of AIs in house space living to tell the tale. Try that with a K'Hara| tagged ship

You sure? I can hardly remember AI 've been attacked by someone except for selfdefence.
Tried with all of the Houses and they didnt lived to tell any tale...the fact that the "AI comunity" is so "confused" its because MOST of them really dont read any lore involving the AI's...its just a 5 minute read in the Gammu's info or if you need are nutshell try the "Harvesters",they are the original owners of the AI shipline (where).
Like one told me some time ago...AI id is made to fit the cruiser not viceversa and if you want to play as an Human made AI or something else stick with your tipical faction/generic id and play your AI rp but DO not think the AI's from Gammu are human made...simply of the ships design...is it human? Does it resemble any huma/alien ship in disco lore?
In general term,we lack a solid AI comunity because of the folowing things:
-AI's are not human and most AI id ships RP human build AI's
-AI id/ships are bought because they are "unique" not because one whants to rp an AI
-Most people dont even know what AI (artifficial intelligence) means and AI dosent mean Robot for those who dont know
-Failure to the points above and lack of dedicated and "educated" AI/SyFY player base really put the nail into the coffin
This could have been a great story but my lack of forum posts or friends whom like to forward my ideeas (i hate being a leader and i hate politics/diplomacy and thus some else must have done it for me/us)
