History of the Ronin and the Kusari Exiles:
====================================
During the Bretonia-Kusari war in 818 A.S. Emperor Jien Kogen and his court moved to the front lines, to personally oversee Kusari's impending conquest of the Leeds system. During his visit however, the Gallic Royal Navy launched their invasion of the Taus and quickly overran the Kusari supply lines and rear guard, slaughtering them. Before they knew what was happening, most of the Imperial fleet was wreckage.
Taking advantage of the situation, Kishiro-backed forces overthrew Imperial loyalists at home in Kusari, and established the new Kusari Republic, which was quick to make peace with the newly revealed Gallia. Cut off from home, resupply, command, and their families, the battered remnants of the Kusari Naval Forces drifted through the Bretonian border, desperate to flee from the Gallic onslaught.
In the midst of the chaos and carnage, the former Emperor, Jien Kogen, stepped up to rally the remnants of the Imperial fleet. With just five battlegroups, the fleet was a shadow of it's former glory, and suffering from damage and a lack of supply.
Turning to those that were only days before his enemy, the Emperor formed an uneasy alliance with the Bretonian Armed Forces, who provided desperately needed repairs and supplies to their former enemy. While most of the fleet retreated into the Newcastle nebulae, the Battlegroup Nagasaki and it's complement took up positions at Stokes Mining Station, ready to help combat
the Gallic advance into Leeds.

The Imperial Court
====================================
The Court functions as the Government In-Exile of the Empire of Kusari. Ministers are appointed from the loyal Kusari factions, representatives of the Military Shogunate, and other Samurai that have earned the favor of the Emperor. While Emperor Jien Kogen has the final say on all matters currently, the Court serves as his closest advisers, and help shape Imperial policy.
What We Do
====================================
The Kusari Exiles are something of an enigma, and unique in the Discovery Mod. We are a navy without a government to control us. The Exiles are guided by two simple goals, returning the Kogen line to the Kusari throne, and exacting revenge on Gallia. To this end most of the factions ingame presence will be attacking Republic forces in Kyushu and the Kusari Taus and engaging on raids into the Gallic-controlled Taus. At this time returning home in force is impossible, and the Exiles are attempting to strengthen their forces in Bretonia.
The Exiles will be actively seeking our former friends and even some enemies to try and mend fences, and build allies to their cause, both against Gallia, and against the Kusari Republic. The Exiles will be seeking to reinforce their military as well, by making arms deals with Kusari factions and others to replenish losses on the Gallic front. While Kusari Naval technology is still available to the Exiles, as time goes on, their supplies will continually diminish.
Diplomacy
====================================
Known Bases
====================================
Battleship Nagasaki, Tau 29
Battleship Yamaguchi, Destination Unknown
Battleship Satsuma - Imperial Flagship, Tottori
Ships and Equipment Used
====================================
Satsuma Imperial Yacht - The pinnacle of Kusari engineering, the Satsuma is the floating palace of the Kusari Emperors. Currently stranded in Bretonia, it serves as the home and court for the Emperor and his family.
Kusari Battleship - Each battlegroup is headed by one of these venerable warships. Able to act as an anchor for a large force of ships they act more as command bases and are not often taken into the front lines.
“Hatsukaze” class Destroyer - With the Battleships of the Exile fleet kept in reserve to guard their temporary home, the venerable 'Hatchet' serves as the heavy hitter for IKN guerilla attacks. It's small size allows it to move freely through the asteroid fields of the Taus, trapping Gallic Valors in the rocks and picking them apart.
“Natori” class Frigate - Command and control is necessary in any battle, and that's exactly what this gunboat provides a commander and his staff. It's guns are also powerful enough to pick off Gallic snubcraft, though useless against larger vessels.
J50P-B3 “Umibozu” class Torpedo Bomber - The Exile fleet does not have the power to engage most Gallic warships head on. That is where the Umibozu bomber comes in. Small and sleek, they dance around larger vessels unloading antimatter payloads before disappearing into the nebulae.
J17P-95P “Chimaera” class Fighter - This is the standard issue fighter for all Exile forces, and the first one a new pilot will encounter. The Chimaera's loadout and armor allow it to go toe-to-toe with Gallic fighters, and Kusari skill pushes them over the edge to victory.
J7P-34 “Wyrm” class Interceptor - When interceptors are needed, call in the Wyrms. These light fighters are flying coffins in a battle, but as support craft can easily slip in and out of battle.
J3P-5S “Hayabusa” class Scout - Relatively few of these small, light craft were shipped with the fleet in to Bretonia. Their role as a scout fighter left them in light use, in a battlefield where everything could be seen for kilometers around with no issue. However, their small size, and impressive nimbleness allowed for very low casualties, and virtually all of the Hayabusa shipped with the fleet remain, still providing their important, even if infrequent, role of battlefield scouting.
J90P-54HT “Dragon” class Heavy Transport - These large transports used to form the backbone of the Kusari Fleet's supply lines. Unfortunately almost all were slaughtered during the opening days of the Gallic war, and due to their light armor, many more have perished since. The few remaining are closely guarded, and generally used to ferry supplies to the fleet from safer harbors in Bretonia
J20P-2IF “Drone” class Freighter - The smaller Drone transport is nimble enough to survive in war zones, and has become the new backbone of the Exiles' supply lines smuggling goods from loyalists and Samura in Kusari through the Taus to the Imperial Fleet. The hopes of an Empire rest on these tiny wings.
