Faction removed: Slaver's Union

Slaver's Union has been removed for:

1.1 Use of abusive, vulgar, obscene, political, or racist materials
1.4 Adult content or links to it; This also includes any anime that is in any way graphic or pornographic
1.5 Libel, defamatory, threatening materials and any law-violating materials

Consequences:

We've had a slavers union before, but this crossed a line. Any reference to illegal activity with children in game or on the forum will absolutely not be tolerated. All Slaver Union ships are deleted, your faction removed from the forums, and the Slaver's Union forum account banned. You are still allowed to be in this community, but do not attempt to recreate what you did in any way or you will receive an indefinite ban.

Hello Admins,

I'm a member of the SU. We didn't have any chance to explain ourselves with you neither to realize this post we made could lead to such sanction.

We made this "Slaver's Union Sexy Menu" because we're totally involved in RPing as "real" Slavers. You won't deny that such actions happen IRL but we totally understand it is too much ooRP.
As you could saw in our different interactions for the past months, it never have been question of dealing with children unless this post. Just dealing with slaves, acting like slavers. I was the one behind this idea, and I found it "fun" because incredibly horrible indeed. If I knew that involving children in slaver's deal would lead to such reaction from your side, be sure I won't have do that.


We neither thought we were breaking rules, because that post was totally inRP:

1.1 : I agree it is obscene, but any action of a "real slaver" is totally obscene. Hence, as an inRP post of a slaver, we didn't saw dealing with children more horrible than dealing with any kind of human being.

1.4 : In my view, we didn't show any link, image or material that is clearly pornographic, unless our descriptions and use of "porn video" word. We were a little bit worry it would have been to much indeed, but well, humanity and sexual contents will always be together. As an inRP com, we found it "acceptable"

1.5 : "Law-violating material", well dealing with slaves and drugs is already law violating inRP ,ooRP and IRL. Dealing with children is the same kind of atrocity.



Now we will be totally honest: It's the matter of one post (in our view, please provide us any other post that have been border line). If you just told us it's way too much, even for inRP, we would have stop talking about this immediately and would never mention such things again. Neither one of us have been sanctioned, and we neither received a single warning from your side. As such, we were thinking that our way to RP was totally acceptable.


We love discovery and this community. We want, through the Salver Union, bring another aspect of Human interactions that, unfortunately, happened in all history and still today. The darkest way to RP, the most disgusting people that could exist.
You, admins, spend a lot of time to make Discovery a game very close to reality. It seems we've been to far on this point and we do apologize. We've spent so much time on this faction: how to RP with other factions? How to define our goals? How to bring to discovery, another aspect of Human Behavior that's not enough exploited.

You can't imagine the horrible feeling we all have, one mistake made all our efforts and dreams vanish. You know what freelancer brings to all of the member of this community and you know how involved players like we are will feel regarding such a sanction for one mistake: it's not fair. No offense, but why you didn't tell us it was too much? One warning, and the only one you would have send us.

Personal view: Dealing with children or human being is horrible in both ways. So why this post in particular leads to such a sanction? Without any one warning? I feel devastated: I've been working everyday on this project for 3 months, more than a year for the founders. Wrote so many stories and spent so much time to write them in a proper English which is not my native language. We know slavery is a very sensible subject, but so immersive and interesting inRP talking. Moreover there isn't precise rules for it. How we could know the limits?

What we did, is in my view, related to this extract. Hence we thought it was "acceptable" inRP talking. And as I said, we won't have ever mentioning such activity if it would create this kind of reaction/sanction

Then you started with Sex Slaves and we already had a discussion with another Faction about this subject and told them that it was crossing a line.

I'm the founding member of the Slaver's Union. It was my idea to originally bring back the Slaver's Union, and I've been working with my best friend on it for over a year. Some of our original posts date back almost 13 months. After a hiatus, we came back to Discovery and for the last 3 months, I've spent no less than 12-24 hours a week on this forum and in-game. I am the primary writer for almost 80% of the content, and have since drafted nearly 30,000 words and 100+ pages worth in stories for various characters related to this faction. I admit, I was not a part of the "Sex Menu", but in principal, wasn't opposed to the idea, as it fit our RP. As for a previous faction having tried this, no one here had any idea about that, and had we simply been warned, I wouldn't have wasted a year of my time only to be censored.

In regards to the rules we violated:

1.1 has been violated since our inception, as Slavery is always vulgar and obscene. Other factions break this rule regularly.
1.4 "Adult content or links to it; This also includes any anime that is in any way graphic or pornographic": I did not personally see anything in the post that would have broken that rule, as there were no links. The only mention of videos was inRP and was fictitious. We don't have, nor would we have ooRP porn videos depicting children.
1.5 The only section we violated was illegal materials, and inRP, every criminal faction breaks this rule.

A single member we inducted wrote that post, and I never even fully screened it before it was posted. The last 3 days I spent sleeping after work and had no time, only to wake up to my faction that I spent hundreds if not thousands of hours on being taken away. I beg you to reconsider.

Please, kindly let me answer some of the arguments you pointed out.

1st: Neither of us knew that such sex slavery thing had already been a subject of discussion. As I said, if we knew it we would have never cross this line. Our aim is to increase our visibility, including admins (i.e. our request for officialdom). Do you really think we would have mentioned forbidden subjects, and still thinking we would have a chance to achieve our goals? (No aggressiveness is this question)

2nd: "You didn't just cross the line, you drove over it and kept going." As I said above, we didn't know this line. And we didn't received a warning, just a pure erase. So I don't figure out the "kept going".

I totally understand you're shocked and we, again, do apologize for it. We absolutely had no idea it would lead admins to feel disturbed so much. Any action that would lead to such feeling would have been prevented.... If we knew it

Your RP of playing Slavers was never a problem. Slaves have been around in the Game for a long time.

As that, I am assuming here, you are a mature person, we shouldn't need to tell you that using the idea of Children as Sex Slaves is going too far?

We have no problem with you carrying on with the Slavers RP, but we do not want to see any more references to Sex Slavery or indeed anything involving Children.

We haven't banned you, but hopefully we have sent a clear message that everyone can read and understand.

I only ask this as we had a lot of RP built up with other players and factions in preparation for applying for official faction status. Could I perhaps request that all posts except for the offending one be restored? We simply wish to move on with our goals. Thank you for your consideration either way.

We've spent the past few days discussing, and we have concluded that the punishment stands. You made it seem above that the post was written by one person without approval from the group. Yet @Garrett Jax received a PM from the [SU] leader informing us that the entire group voted to keep that information in the post, rather than omitting it. Therefore, it was not the work of a single individual, but of the group as a whole.

You are free to continue here, as well as free to make another group. But the Slaver's Union as it stood crossed a line that should never has been crossed in the first place, and as such will not be allowed to return from the void.
