Well i got to bored to fly back to Baffin. So i set up cruise and aim'd for the system wall.
To peak my curiosity There was no death message in hitting the system wall.
yes it took some time getting there but i left the comp to go do other things like shower eat cook stuff like that.
The only notice i got was New Player [TAZ]Panda No death message at all.
At the slight chance that this could be abused i think a system wall death message should be put into place
some thing like ( player committed suicide ) or ( player ran out of fuel in deep space and died )
something to this extent.
http://signavatar.com/15890_s.gif First: You've got a picture in there that's 800x286 pixels. The maximum signature size is 700x250.
Second: Your other picture in the rotation fills the full 700x250 boundaries by itself.
With an image that big, you can't fit any text below it. Please fix this.

why? so people who decide to rather run for 600K then RP or at least try to pvp choose to go and hit an unvisible wall that makes their ship explode.... I don't think dev team needs more to do - get the 86 already out!
It takes 20 - 30 mins to fly the 600 - 700k to the system wall (700k taking exactly 33.3 mins at 350ms), given that amount of time, and the fact that they then have to fly back to the system by regular means, would mean that it's no more efficient than simply flying back normally.
Yeah it is abuse, but it's not really advantageous abuse.
' Wrote:im curious on how long it takes to hit the wall?
wouldn't it just be faster to trade the runs than go and trya dn hit a system wall?
bout 20-30 minutes. @ 749k
but i got a multi core processor ( phenom IIx4 3.4 ghz over clocked to 3.6 ) and a mean video card.
I can load up other games while waiting.
@ montezuma.
Im mainly pointing at the miners who have almost nothing to return to there start destination.
what would i rather do.
( fly back with 5k cargo worth of not much and still get pirated ) or go afk for a few and hit the system wall.

No, there is only one way of getting killed by the system wall, and unless you're speedmodding, you wont get there any faster. So no matter what you do, it'll always take half an hour or so to get there, which is rather pointless. And the only trading factions I would consider pro are Bowex and the IND.
And if a miner spends half an hour going to the system wall, as opposed to making 5 mil or so with return cargo in the same amount of time (less if you're doing one of the shorter mining runs), then he's actually losing profit on the whole.
I think you'll find that while the console isn't popping out a message, respawning does get logged. Might even be easy to detect now this discrepancy is pointed out... Suicide traderuns have in the past resulted in admins taking harsh action to those doing this abuse. Wouldn't recommend it.
[Edit] And name me one route that delivers ore but does not offer a return cargo.
Cobalt Ore: Take Fertilizers to Stuttgart, then Food to your mining base.
Copper ore: Dunno, don't run that one, it's an embargocrosser. But I bet there's -something- in Liberty that Rheinland wants.
Silver: Optronics from Honshu to I believe Bonn.
Diamonds: Same as Silver
Niobium: MOX from Dortmund to either Nagumo or Dounby. Or Light Arms from Berlin to Akita, then mining tools from NT planet to Java. About the same profit.
Just to name a few.
