Special conference? Dinner? I have not yet been informed about anything like that. Is the topic discussed at said conference important? If not, I have better things to do with my time than watching officers drink expensive wine out of even more expensive glasses and drifting into meaningless small talk. If it should indeed be important, I will be there but won't stay for the dinner afterwards except there is something important to be discussed there, too.
I sincerely hope the reason for this is not just the boredom of our officers who can not spend their time off duty doing something that actually benefits our Vaterland. You read my words. Forward the address of the place to me in case there is any significance to the conference, else don't bother responding at all.
The topic of the conference is classified at level Eta. Of course I don't want to bore you with wines, glasses and "meaningless" talks. I thought we could talk about your reassignment, but in that case, you'll be informed on the spot on Saturday.
