no. the entire game is free. premium just means you get more exp and ingame money after a fight than people without a premium account.

There are two currencies used in the game.
Gold
&
Silver.

Silver is what you earn with every game you play and use to get repairs and standard ammunition. Gold is used to purchase certain vehicles, or you can use it to upgrade your account to 'Premium' for a certain amount of time.

So there's a one-time purchase of the software... and then there's in game currency (which would be not real life money) which one could used to buy what exactly?

There are premium tanks and shells. Which one can unlock with a certain amount of gold? Or silver?

Let me guess, you can only have these "premium" items as long as your racking in gold/silver.

OMG, that sounds like Combat Arms, STUPID GAME (not WoT, never played WoT)

So game software is free. Check.

Silver is earned for repairs/ammo, and new tanks after you get exp to unlock them.
Gold is used for premium tanks,ammo, and prem account.
Premium tanks just earn a little more silver, but are a little under par of reg tanks of same tier/lvl
Gold ammo can pen better then reg ammo, but very expensive to use in every game.
Prem account gets you 50% more exp, and silver per game.

3 currencies. Xp for research is the most important imo as it's what is needed for research to get all the way up to the top tanks (no dollar bought tank is as good as the top tanks that anyone can climp up to without paying a penny) and gold doesn't give you XP from thin air. You gotta go in-game and slug it out for that.
