Thanks gentlemen
A Psalm out of the outcast history books.
The dons are our shepherds; I shall not want. They make us live with a cause; They lead us trough the still vasts of space. They restore our souls; They lead us in the paths of righteousness For The Orange Dream. Yai, though we fly through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil; For the Spirits are with us; Your leadership and Your cardamine, they comfort us. You prepare a safe home for us in the presence of our enemies; Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us All the days of our life; And we will dwell in the house of the outcasts Forever
Such a marvelous display of the word "Gank" in Omega-11 just now.
Attacking a lone fighter with 5, then running away soon as backup logs in (And is not even in scanner range yet) most definitely is the example an official faction should be for others.
An RP was under-way...a rather important one at that. Sorry for the gank, but we had a package. Then got ganked later by RoS and GMG. busy busy day. Thank you for the feedback though.
No, Aerelm that is NOT the way a faction should act. Send me any applicable PM's so I can sort through it. Whoever it was shouldnt have even been there; thats way out of our ZoI.
Gonna chime in with a bit of clarification on that O-11 thing as I was there.
First of all it was a mini-event we had, nobody intended to gank anyone there. 101st had to stall any hostile during so that 'special item' could be delivered safely to Omicron Alpha. Aerelm logged on his RHA character, it was predictable some hessian players would log in, in fact I fully counted on that. Aerelm character was not shot down, and wasn't intended to, instead three ships (not all five) from the main group focused to keep his attention away from the ship carrying the 'item'. Soon as it was out of the system they disengaged to catch up with the two ahead. Again, entirely as it was asked of them. Hessian cruiser appearance was a coincidence and of no significance, it didn't matter at all, but added nice element - in a way reaction was as it should be - disengage and proceed with the mission. Hessians were never the targets mini-event. GMG were invited to participate in this mini-event by me personally as all Rheinland forces were busy in Hamburg, so they took on the role of giving us a hell of a chase (and so they did, kudos to them!). RoS appearance was unexpected but gave an interesting plot twist (kudos to them as well) and additional tension to the chase. The mini-event was my idea and thus my responsibility in how it played out. I wanted to give players something other than simple PvP brawl event (those are so primitive), yet giving them a challenge and keeping a possibility for an element of surprise (that's why I didn't inform anyone whom we can stumble upon the road, except for GMG). And I think it played out really great, proving there is still a place for non-strictly-regulated-and-scripted RP some sort of smaller events. But if you want to blame someone for daring to try - blame me then, not them, Ae. One more thing. A kind of surprise mixed with a bit of disappointment to see such a reaction from you, Ae, cause I remember we used to have some great RP and you've been always open-minded about such things. What ever happened to that?
Aerelm. Think we both know things aren't always about PvP. And in this particular case it was 100% about RP. Not all succumbed to plain PvP, some of us still do old-fashioned events where PvP isn't the goal and kudos to 101st for that. Still, kudos to you for participation, even if you didn't know what it was all about, yet as a character you've played your part, in fact just as it would have been expected of you. It is only unfortunate that you, as a player, simply mistook it for plain competitive multiplayer PvP encounter, which it never was in the first place. Just checked server title, still says it's RP server, right? After all, you haven't been even killed, only shot at for less than a minute, and making that much of a fuss now? Really, Ae? So all in all I can only guess that your frustration can be attributed to just one thing - for a brief moment you forgot there can be RP and saw only PvP and nothing else. Understandable, I suppose, but may be try see it other ways too, as you could before? I kinda prefer to keep a possibility for a random element appearing in the events, and you've been such element, thanks for that at least.

101st in Omega 11...? :unsure:What are they even doing there? Bit outside of their regular ZoI...
[Edit] Ah, mini-event. That explains it:)

I don't mind seeing Outcasts in Omegas with a reasoning behind it, because after all, I was personally involved in a part of Jameson's RP which dragged 101st into Omegas back in the day, so that's not really the subject of my feedback here. To describe the situation in short, this is what happened:
I undock from Freital and see a 101st tagged hostile 7k away, so I move in and start a very short chitchat which soon turns into me shooting him cause he decides to thrust away while dodging instead of replying to my message. Then, after a good 20k of chase, I finally arrive into a party of four 101st and a certain individual and what happens there, which left me with a "Is this actually happening?" impression was that the whole group of 101sts (Which, let me correct myself - Were 4 ships, not 5... But that doesn't really make a difference against a lone Odin, does it?) jumping on me with a 1-liner or two. Now, from an ooRp point of view, I knew well enough that 101st were there for a reason and they weren't just 'passing through' like that first 101st told me, but from InRp view, my char basically had no idea about why might the 101st be there before he got the whole group on his scanner. What happened then, was me gettin shot at by 4 ships who cruised away one by one cause I couldn't keep all of them CDed.
Now, let me clarify two things before giving my actual feedback:
I don't mind being ganked, even though I don't like it. Even as RHA, there are more than a few situations where I get ganked by at least 8 ships on a daily basis. So what I'm disappointed from isn't 101st deciding to gank their way past me.
This is not about the PvP, cause if anyone would ping me they could see I had 14% loss, which pretty much made the pvp impossible for me. I just logged in because I always remembered my interactions with 101st (Be it friendly or hostile) on much higher standards.
Then, to point out one last detail before going in for the actual feedback - I'm not complaining about the whole situation, cause it's generally something to easily shrug off. What I'm complaining about is people involved in it (Namely, the 101st) doing what just everyone esle does, because honestly... I expected much more from the 101st.
So... To the actual feedback:
From an InRp perspective: The part I consider 'poor RP' in that interaction is the very first piece of the puzzle - It was supposed to be a 'secret' mission, so what I call good RP would be trying to get it done while attracting least attention possible. The first 101st I ran into who seemed to be a lone Sabre lost in the unfamiliar Omega systems, could easily hold me off (Even if he couldn't kill me, which was unlikely cause with that amount of loss I couldn't hit him anyways) while the rest of the group easily circle their way around us and reaching o41 unnoticed. Instead, what he did was to drag me to where the main group was, revealing their presence and location and risking the whole mission. That part is the part I call for bad RP, which happens to be the part which left me with a "So he dragged me all the way here just to gank me off while he could easily take care of me himself." impression.
From an ooRp perspective: I used to fly with 101st a lot back in the day Jameson was leading. One thing I liked about the faction was seeing they share the same mentality of 'fairplay' as me. Sure, fairplay isn't something common on Disco nowadays, but it was at least nice to know one group of people who did stick to it no matter what. When I saw the 3 other 101st on scanner 14k away, my first thought was "Ok I'm screwed" but then I remembered the fights we had with 101st and figured "Oh well, they're not gonna throw all their ships on me, so let's go in and see what happens." but when I got into 2k range and noticed every member of the 101st present was throwin an engaging-type of message into local and coming in all guns blazing... That was where I was disappointed. Not because I got ganked, that's somethin that happens every time I log my RHA... Only because I was gettin ganked by a group of people who used to dislike ganks and try to prevent them as much as I did. But eh, factions change just as their membership does I bet.
In the end - My whole feedback is more of a "101st used to be cooler than this" type of deal, not a "who did what wrong", which is why I didn't include screenshots in my feedback and didn't bring up any names. But Patrician, if you still want it, let me know and I'll PM you the screenshot or two I have from that interaction.
Hiya,
I was just being nosey and reading 101st's feedback.I'd just like to say, from my experiences in the Taus, 101st really don't have any issues with keeping stuff fair.
Now if only you guys could persuade all those indie lolransuer pilots to ditch the caps and join up!:P

Well, I'm not surprised about that reaction of that player (I'm not saying a name unless Patrician wants it), I'll just say we have problems with his RP.
Now, I didn't want to gank, and as you know, I left with "certain individual" and told other Ghosts to keep your attention until we get away. If they really wanted to gank you, you would have been killed and they wouldn't cruise away. Maybe it could've been better if you just followed -that- guy and see where was he going. If you did that, fight wouldn't have probably happened at all.
Also, if we were just "passing by" and it wasn't important mission, I'm sure we wouldn't gank you. But this mission was one of most important ones, and we couldn't screw it up. That's why we even had escorts. It was planned only by Space and me, and other Ghosts just happened to be online so we thought: "Hey, more ppl more fun".
