to bring the Aquillon carrier more in line with the other zoner ships - i have made a concept for its second generation
just to compare - this is the juggernaut
and this is the revision.
why do things look the way they look....:
- it is meant to look derived from the juggernaut
- it doesn t require the functionality of an autonomous ship and so it hasn t got too many storage containers or even a biodome
- it allows docking of small and medium craft ( as shown - a transport and 2 fighters in the bay )
- its more a tactical vessel with a good sensor array and a powerful transmission dish
- engines and design is meant to be build for efficiency rather than design. - and so the ship is of course smaller and twice as compact.
the new juggernaut is quite a behemoth - gaining a lot of mass ( by the looks ) and its more and more a highly mobile "station/generation ship". - the aquillon however is meant to be a military ship.
after i finished it - i wasn t sure if it really was an improvement - so i d like to hear especially those who fly that thing - what they think ( i think thats like 10-20 ppl hehe )
I think it looks more like it's derived from the Conference which is a great thing in my book, I love that ship. How many small ships can dock with it at one time? and can the Carrier repair and re-fuel them?
I reckon there will be a lot more Aquilons around now that they will be able to do the job they're supposed to.
Awesome. It looks much bigger than the current one, which is good, imo. And I love the details (apart from the fighter just chilling out on the deck... what's it doing out there in the vacuum?).
Once i was used to fly a Aquillon. And i can tell this one looks way much better. I think i found my Order mobile base...now the only thing i need is to convince the Zonies to gimme one.
