"I usually steer clear of both and just do what I want. Usually I just take stuff that's needed to places that need it. I aid the Bretonian war effort from time to time, but apart from that my next job's anyone's guess. I don't like to stay with the corporations, I don't like to get caught up in their politics, y'know? The authorities though... I did get in trouble once for transporting what I thought was legal software. Turned out I was tricked by a Lane Hacker into trying to transport a ton of the stuff to his friend in Liberty."
She sighed as she looked over at the noisy men, lazily playing with her curly hair at the same time.
"The LSF believed my story after I told them the name of the guy and let me off with a warning. Plus I almost never go into Kusari territory, once they catch wind that I'm a Bretonian, they hunt me down like a dog." She laughed.
The man thought to himself for a moment, hand stroking the stubble on his chin.
"I've been tasked by my superiors to find out if you're trustworthy enough to offer you some work. I'm happy to say, you're trustworthy in my eyes. It's quite an easy job, simply fly around as you've always done, go about your life and your trade, but when you see or hear of anything unusual such as strange anomalies or structures in space or strange ships, compile a report and either hand it personally to one of my many colleagues spread across Sirius or send it through encrypted channels to us. We can and will pay you generously for any of this information."
He grabbed the glass of water and finished it before continuing.
"One of my colleagues is waiting by your ship in the docking bay. He will provide you with information on how to contact us and if you need help in starting back up, he can arrange to have some credits wired to you, just give him a number... Any questions?"
