That's not necessary in my opinion. To be honest, the black cockpit actualyl looks pretty cool.

As model lead, I'm in agreeance with what's said before: Change the teal sections. That texture makes this ship look like the clown of the order line. Use a black band with a very faint, almost transparant glow if you want to create an interesting effect. Also, forget about class 10 guns on a heavy fighter with 5 weapons facing forward. I'm pretty sure the balance lead is going to axe that configuration.
