One time, five BSG came to ransack Malta. I was the only defense fighter. Every cell in my body yelled to run to Malta, dock, and hide. Instead, I said that the BSG had better say their prayers, because they were about to bite the dust. I died. The only reason I fought was because, as an Outcast, it would have been ooRP to let them waltz all over Alpha uncontested...
The RP is what makes the PvP, not the other way around.
Fear is good, it keeps you alive... use it to your advantage. In fights in Freelancer, I fly like a coward. That's why I win the majority of fights I get into.
Prudence beats strength, discretion is the better part of valour. You're doing well.
I shiver every time I fly into battle as Fantasia, because I know that I will always be the first thing that gets shot at, and probably the first to die...also of interest, I don't judge my success by whether I die or not, but I'm usually concerned more about getting as many of the Gunboats/Cruisers down as possible, and killing the enemy's battleship before I die. I suppose I'm really more well-suited to capship dueling, something I am, if I do say so myself, fairly decent at... It's different in my Kusari Destroyer, though, because then my death isn't virtually assured the minute a few gunboats or a couple of bombers show up, because I can actually dodge them with some degree of success. Then I have more of a survival instinct that kicks in, and I tend to swear more when I get destroyed:D

I like PvP quite alot, on the other hand. I am quite insatiable sometimes, but at others, when Gamma is being whored with like, two people on the defending side, or somthing similar, I just can't be bothered to go there, undock and be faced with a full fleet in whatever ship I choose to pilot, usually a bomber. I don't fight fights like that, the ones I crave do not involve any capital ships on either side.
Put me in a fighter, and I'll fight. The majority of the time, ill enjoy it too.
I hate people when they fly like cowards. Turn tail and run everytime their shield goes down. Pisses me right off, that does. If I did it, I would win, yeah. But I don't like to be beaten by people who are sly. I like to be beaten by people who can truely beat me. I can name one of the guys who does this, and his name is Skyelius. Good on you mate.
But seriously, every time somone fights like a coward and I see it, they lose a few respect points from me. Maybe I dont count, maybe im being an idiot, but thats how I feel about this.
WAAAY off topic, but I think it's connected. Maybe the reason why some try to avoid PvP? Because it isn't worth their time?
I don't avoid it but then again i don't chase it either. I hate how im not as good as some of the pilots on disco, like mcneo up there, Sky, razr and Ares to name a few:P
I used to be quite good on another server but i think ive lost it since ive started playing freelancer again.
Guess i need more practice and should get stuck into fights more.
I love flying fighters...but hate fighting in them lol
I am a great Battleship flier but never really PvP in it.
I have a bomber, which I have killed most gunboats and can make a fighter have second thoughts about staying to fight.
And my gunboat is like my personal killing machine! Piracy is fun in that thing. Everyone says get a fighter if you want to pirate....But I can't because I wouldn't know how to use it lol.

Ya know? Not having a good fight all day, I took my outcast sabre down to crete this evening and buzzed around it, yelling at all the yellow bellied corsairs to come defend there property, and after ten minutes of this, one finaly shows up.....in an osirus.....:crazy:being the guy I am, I took him on......for a few minutes, and then realized the insanity of the situation.
My point? dunno, I enjoy a good PvP, but I dont usually go out of my way to get one. Im relativly skilled, and fights that last forever actually help me because I get the chance after the first few minutes to relax, calm down, and formulate a stategy to take the other guy out.

somehow i most enjoy those fights against the odds...i work best under pressure and when survival instinct kicks in...and when i am in revengeful mood...then i surprise even myself...
in normal, balanced pvp (one on one) i usually lose...i don't find it motivating enough...
i know how to fly any class of ship....but i simply enjoy killing in my trader:crazy:
i don t like pvp - so i m playing zoner. i m not good at pvp and not willing to practice other than when i m forced to "practice" ( when i am attacked )
pvp on a roleplay basis is great - no matter about the odds - thats what we re here for. pvp for pvpsake is bad, and it doesn t matter if you win or loose then.
