I've played many years ago... so you will need to rely on your skills...:)

You will play the game for a while... get used to it... and at least it can provide many hours of gameplay:)

See, it's one thing to provide many, many hours of gameplay, it's another to provide many, many hours of fun.

I'm really loving X3 Albion Prelude, but I'm pretty pissed off right now. I accidentally over-wrote my game which I made the most progress in. It's not glorious, of course, but I was quite proud of my 2 Vulture SF XL Universe Traders, my 674 m/s speed Kestrel and my Four Million Credits.

Well, I've definitely enjoyed it. The truth is, that at the beginning of each X series, I was pissed of, mostly because of earning cash to upgrade my ships. After many hours spent, I've managed to build a corporation, with proper Scripts(not cheats, just enhancements)... so my vessels were able to work instead of me...

From that point it became interesting, testing the battleships, raiding some argons and pirates. So it can be really enjoyable... Personally I like the upgrades and the various weapon system, also producing missiles:)...

the game definitely requires time and patience. also if you cant manual dock on any of the landing docks your doing something wrong. if your having an issue lining it up with say a ship landing bay slow to about 30-40 meters per second. also be careful undocking from the earth torus as I've hit the floor of the capital landing bay before.

I finished the first part of X two days ago, it is kind of tricky, but once you figured out how to do it, it is quite easy. If you want to finish the first game, you need to be patient. If you don't want to know how I managed the kind of boring start, stop reading here.

Quote:First step is to sell the shield the Teladi, in their most generous way, gave you at the local equipment dealing station. You should find it in the northern part of the system (although it is kind of hard to navigate without map).

With the money you got from selling the shield you buy the time forwarding device (SETA) (usable with j) aswell as the tactical navigation map (usable with n) (or whatever it is called) at the same station. Just don't use the Turbo anymore, as it will lead to the destruction of your ship without shields.

Then the kind of boring part begins, you have to trade. Best thing is to trade with Energy cells and sell it to the local stations, as almost every station needs them. During the trading you should uprade your cargo capazity over and over again, until you reach about 75. Don't forget to "save" frequently (cost 10 credits), because trading without shields, especially the docking part, is dangerous.

After you got about 16 000 Credits, you should pay the debts you have and buy a own station, the Solarplant station thing. It is quite cheap if you compare it with the other parts of the X series. You have to hire the local transport (TL), the big one near the Laser producing station. The only disadvantage with this station is, that you cannot hire transport to buy the needed cristalls. You have to buy them on your own. If you lower the price of the energy cells to 6 the NPC trader will start to buy your energy cells. Even if you set the prize to 5 you still get amazing profit out of this station.

At least thats how I did it. From there on you should be able to fund more stations (you can hire transports for all other stations to buy the ressources they need, but not to sell the produced goods) and to buy the necessary equipment.

And this Forum does not have any Spoiler codes, does it? I feel deeply sorry if I offended someone with my post. Anyways, it still took me several days to complete the first game.
