' Wrote:Not true, Im sure the news and infocards on sair and corsair bases talk about "the war that never ends" in the omicrons between sairs and casts.
Also there was a news on the liberty rogue base talking about the war between outcast and sairs, and one talking about the big alliances they made to fight each other. Seems they are at war
Indeed they are, since mod development already created the war. This News report was added at...4.84, I guess?:PI've got no idea about such rumours, though - I don't remember if Eta has custom rumours by now...
But think a bit closer. What's reason for war? Simply nationalism? They have nothing to fight for, both of them. Corsairs don't really need cardamine, Outcasts don't really need artifacts. They got different goals: Corsairs - to get prosperous habitable planet, Outcasts - to create living space, to spread cardamine to increase their own...mobility. Corsairs aren't some noble saviours to fight specifically against cardamine, even though some individuals do rp them as such. And Outcasts aren't really interested in fighting on Nomad side for artifacts - they just want to keep nomads out of their home system, and that works as long as nothing disturbs nomads there.
War about hate? Oh, common. We've never had war based on hate. All wars are result of some serious conflict, not about something what happened 800 years ago. Just don't tell me WWI/WWII. ;D
From the Unione Corse point of view, I was honestly led to believe the Outcasts would be closer to the Gallic Brigands than the Corse, considering the ressemblence of the Brigands and the Liberty Rogues, as well as the fact the Brigands are pro-slavery (something which the Outcasts are very fond of), while the Corse seems to value each life as somewhat sacred and seems to despise slavery. Plus, the Unione Corse backstory for .86 doesn,t even mention them once, only being specific on the artifacts' trade, especially on the Hogosha side of the fence, while the Brigands' backstory seem to insist on the fact they become close allies of the Liberty Rogues. This seems to come out of nowhere with an odd basis.
Just noticed something odd in relation to the below paragraph. Buffalo is a Liberty Rogue base. Is that intentional, in meaning the Junkers fought on a base that is not their own? Or, is it purely just a mistake?
Quote:The expositions lead to an open conflict that resulted in an array of brutal killings and shootouts in Rochester, Beaumont and Buffalo
Quote:Relations between the IMG and the Colonial Republic suffered a blow in 817 A.S. when the CR allied itself with Kusari and offered Kusari Naval Forces free passage into the Tau-23 system. Since then however, the Kusari-Colonial alliance has been dissolved and IMG-Colonial relations have increased, whilst Kusari-Colonial relations decreased. As IMG-Colonial relations continued to increase, the two parties signed a defensive alliance pact, ensuring a joint response to any aggression.
It was my understanding the CR was -shooting- Kusari, not siding with em. Their choice to defy the GRN is what put the strain on things, when the IMG could not honor their defensive alliance.
The entire CR section at the bottom needs another proofread - few grammatical errors in there.

For pretty much over a year a large percentage of Corsairs have been coldshouldering the OC... there is no war. Players dont want it its not going to happen. Players can/do just choose to go interact with someone else.

Indeed. As far as i know, the real reason for GMG and casts to fight was because GMG tried to actually get a foothold in Omicron Beta..... Now you dont just waltz into a massive pirate factions backyard without repercussions.
also, i find it really hard for the sairs to know anything about Gallia before the Outcasts... Since either the Corsairs would have to break through Bretonia or Outcast territory to even confirm this information. Both highly unlikely to succeed inRP, even for lone pilots. Also, if zoners knew and told sairs, knowing zoners they would have tried to sell that info to the outcasts first because they would be the ones affected the most, and thus the ones likely to pay the most for that info.
