It's crazy if you think that the lore has been writen months ago (not to say a year), and this concern only arised when Zelot posted the faction creation request. Not a year ago, not 6 months ago, but Yesterday.

What's sure is that I'm not responsible, nor anyone in the [ronin] for what has been written in the lore. It'd be like blaming the [RHA] if Igiss decided that for 4.87 Red Hessians become a lawful faction and are not allowed to shoot Rheinland Lawfuls anymore. They can't do anything except express their disagreement, and still, it should be done directly when the lore is posted and not 1 year after it's posted.
Well, actually, what I'm complaining about, in very specific, is the expectation of the Ronin that Bretonia accept them as friends and buddies because it has to to survive. The lore itself is rather vague on exactly what's going on between Bretonia and the Ronin, just that there is an agreement...an agreement which is not going to be set on paper because the bretonian players are very interested in certain clauses that the Ronin reject. Lack of that document leads to finger pointing at the lore and trite declaration of 'look, we're friends' when in fact all the lore says is that the Queen has accepted an agreement.
I'm only, in so much as that rant was concerned, mad at the idea that Zelot keeps perpetrating that Bretonia needs the Ronin so very badly.
The Ronin are helpful to Bretonia the way a crumb is helpful to a starving man, marginally to not at all. What Bretonia desperately needs is Liberty...Oh, there's an idea. If it would make sense for Liberty to say something to Bretonia about committing war crimes on the Ronin...
There are interesting ways to do it. Ways that make sense, and fit into the lore. The lore is lose. The Queen accepts an agreement. (three As in a row. Alliteration ftw) Kogen Proposes.
Without even getting into the terms, you can do rather more interesting things than "because a man is holding a gun on your mother" style enemy of my enemy who was my enemy but is now my friend even though they killed millions via undefined plot device.
To reiterate, as I guess I should, that being the point of this thread (but the other text kept me writing for a while, so that's nice) I'm not mad at the lore. The lore, in this very tight instance, is shaped just loose enough to let players do rather fun things. I'm miffed at the simple suggestion that Bretonia's juuust desperate enough to take Kogen's help...By rights, Bretonia's less desperate now than it was before..

Off topic, but hey. I do think Gallia should do rather more to Bretonia than squat on Edinburgh...to the point that, in my memory, I rather wanted there to be no proposed new anglia systems, and conquered new london, a battlefield P Leeds+environs, conquered Edinburgh, Battlefield Newcastle, Battlefield Dublin. I'm still kind of hoping it happens.

Note that the Ronin are not so much of an amazing force that they could stop Leeds falling.
It took the entire brunt of the Kusarian Navy to push that far into Leeds.

Leeds will fall, with or without the Ronin.
In any case, threatening people with complete and utter meta/power/superduperomgwth gaming if they don't conform to what you want is not a good thing to do.
