' Wrote:@Juan - And i agree with you.
I only said that my post was not in any way connected to your problem.
If a cop starts shooting on people, because they have a criminal record, that's against the law.
But, again, my post was not a reply to yours.
It was a reply to the main problem of this subject.:)
OK. I view the Smuggler ID as equivalent to a real world criminal record or at least an indicator that the person has a shady past (which the police might know thanks to informants, but not be able to prove). Unfortunately, some "lawful" players think that the Smuggler ID is a license to KOS.
I've taken the subject personally, because it affects one of my characters. However, I think it should concern anybody who ever carries contraband, which would account for many, if not most, players.

Pirates go after (almost) every trader pirating for money. Police only go after those who break the law.
Haven't read all the replies to his post yet. But don't you think the police / military killing a smuggler with "passengers" is a bit OORP? Wouldn't the police / military demand he return the passengers to the planet / base and then return for his punishment? After all, the passengers are innocent to what the smuggler did before he docked. Why take it out on the passengers?
' Wrote:LSF arent police, global stop crying. you were asked to stop, you didnt you approached me i shot. end of story. This is why im starting to dislike disco, people always got something to cry about.. all the time. i wasnt hunting you. i was infrnt of manhattan, other LSF pilots were chasing you soo i shot. Am i just gonna stand there and fiddle my thumbs? everytime i get on, someone always complaining.
So LSF killed innocent passengers to make a point? Sorry Sniper, just need to point out some RP with regard to the cargo he brought with him from the planet (at the time he was destroyed). How many passengers were rescued from his destroyed vessel?
' Wrote:As far as the issue with the LSF destroying the ship with passengers aboard... Well, that would be completely open to interpretation. First off, the police down on Manhattan would surely have been made aware that this criminal would be docked there. So, who would board this probably publicly wanted man's ship. Good upstanding citizens of Manhattan? I doubt it. It would stand to reason that the passengers themselves would be, at the very least, shady individuals themselves. Not to mention the fact that a portion of the cargo survives when the ship is destroyed... So minimal collateral damage is accepted in order to bring the criminal to justice.
Its a bit of a stretch to say the passengers were shady. They are more likely unwitting participants at best. The poor usually don't have much choice as to who they receive transportation from.
As for the collateral damage, the "majority" (probably on the order of 90%) will die in the destruction of the vessel. Take into consideration that a pirate destroying a transport carrying 4400 passengers. The most that will be dropped is 180 (period). So 180 out of 4400 ... not very good odds for survival. The Titanic comes to mind ... not enough lifeboats to save everyone.

Seriously, this is beyond absurd. Implement a way to stop a ship short from utterly destroying it and you will see most police/military forces using it instead. All this drama is ridiculous. The game simply doesn't support, as is, this detailing of action you guys require. There's simply no stopping a vessel short from destroying it, period.
To all the righteous. Suggest another course of action then. If you really do have a good alternative, let's hear it.
Besides the guy obviously wasn't RPing if he docked on a HOSTILE planet. (Not hostile to him, but it should have been, since he was caught smuggling by police and shouldnt have been able to dock)
If he was RPing he wouldn't have landed on Manhattan, and headed for Rochester/surrendered.
Iâll carry this flag
To the grave if I must
Because itâs flag that I love
And a flag that I trust
And stop Global could dock at Hattan, as it was not Liberty police that stopped him. But a Reserve corp of triggerhappy Homedefence pilots, who has no legal rights over Liberty police.
Now put all player on KOS that dont stop when you ask them to when you are not even in scannerrange and NY will be a funplace MUHAHA
whem i make this thread,my point was not make from this flame what is lsf or what is not,if they are cap whores as something say(and i think they are not cap whores, because i see only one bs from them) i was only asking if is that allright when police can use battleship again trader ship and oposite side can not.and i was asking of that if it for police more important to destroy one ship as 4195 passengers.and then my question how to make that when i can escape police without being scanned how not to be placed on KoS.and now i know that is no way to make that, when i see on radat LSF,they also see my ship on radar,so i can tell everyone who try to smuggle and see police on scanner is on end with the smuggling, because he ends on koS.
and sniper, noone say that you may have sell the bs as i know, keep them.
and spear, you say that you will take a care on globalplayer-svk,i onyl say, hope that globalplayer-svk never come to New York, because then will be your agent near mines really surprised:)
can not things make that, when smuggler is able to escape without being scanned,is he clean until next visit?spear you say that in rl when police hutntyou and you escape, when they meet you they kill you.but when they see you from big distance and all what they know is color of your car, nothing more and you escape,i think after hour or two you can stay two meters near them and they dont know that you was the driver.(i mean when you scan me,then ok i am criminal, but when i am always 10k from you and i escape without being scanned i am clean)but thats only my idea
Global.
When you are 10 k away they have a problem, Not you, If a suspectet player/smuggler is 10 away and you get that player on KOS.
Then lets start with putting 1/2 of the disco patrons on coz right here, without scanning them.
Now stop this the "NY Homeguard failed as Homeguard all ways do" Nomatter what the NPC home owning fraction over ruled you here and tough luck, Global was safe from ruling npc fraction, but a ppl fraction misused it power and killed alot of innocent passengers, do any one say court martial for the "Pilot" that pulled the trigger.
