Idiocy? Obviously! Much to learn, even for Veterans!

You all dont want to know how long it took me to figure out that there is engine kill and how to use it.

Month, it took me month; Kudos to the Lane Hackers for revealing the technique to me.

Don't worry, I've been playing the game for maybe 4-5 years (?) now, and I only discovered engine kill two months after joining the disco server. (Kudos for Keith in the AblesAces for teaching me that one, he also taught me how to joust.)

Figured out how to shoot out of cruise in caps. It's kinda ossim, not pointing out I don't own caps anymore.

just found out if you want after burn to be on until it ends, press tab key meanwhile press Shif key once.

Orrr just map the "Toggle thrust" to the ~ key or something:P

I didnt know the trade-lane lights, or the EK-Cruise (not that its useful when npcs dont have cds anymore) things till I looked here.

And I only recently found out that pressing f9 can let you see what type of ship someone has at 9.8ks.

Actually you can check out weaponry as well by using that button just above target list. A square with ship icon within I think.

Yeah I knew that. But doesnt that depend on yr scanner, I.E. the only reason to get a discovery scanner?

Actually you can check out weaponry as well by using that button just above target list. A square with ship icon within I think.

You can even target it and shoot it off, using missiles. (Useful to destroy traders thrusters or giving BS pilots a high repair bill to pay.)

What I didn't knew, until I played multiplayer (Discovery), two years ago, was:

- How to use mines effectively. I never bought mine droppers for my snubs.
- How to quickdock at lanes, gates and bases.
- How to use Engine Kill
- How to do barrel rolls
- How to read the map grid (for finding base/JH locations)
