The Corsairs launched a fleet of ships to aid their Order allies--What the heck is wrong with that? Thats like saying NovaPG or 66th can't attack Crete and corsairs aren't allowed to attack Malta/Mito.

Actually there was no original battle as far as we were aware. An ICO veesel requsted help in Alaska which we responded too. The ICO vessel was in Minor when we arrived and we asked him to retreatback to Alaska as we did not wish to enter Minor. We never had any intention of entering Minor.

The ICO vessel jumped back and we waited to see if he would be followed, he wasnt, we returned to NY. There was no good RP reason for the attack but it was good fun. Oh it was 3 Osiris, not 2 and numerous other Caps.

Just serves as a prof how real wars are started over "facts", "truths" and "good reasons"...:lol://once you have your fleet asembled infront of the gulff khm khm, New York, you are not going to turn back...

firstly, the order should be more like a defence organization imo. they shouldnt be preparing to make war against liberty like such, not when they have the keepers threatening their borders like nearly everyday. it seems the independant order CAP SHIPS are doing more atm than the Bs are (sorry peeps, but tis true)
the order may have to defend them selves from any attacks from liberty, so the corsairs should help, since the order help them. fine.

also, in the proper situation, even if the corsairs had so many cap ships, they shouldnt survive a raid on a house military orginization anyway. cripple the navy temporarily yes, but u cant 'own' the system. hell, if that was possible, california should be 'owned' by HF by now, and even texas..

fine bring a bs or two, but dont go with a fleet full of more caps than fighters/bombers.. not only is that cheap, but explain to me HOW is that fun for the opposition?

i know i wasnt there, and dont know the real, full facts but i havea very good idea whats happened, and im guessing that there may have been a bit ofpowerplaying involved as well?

It is fun when the opposition has 3-4 bombers.... shame I wasn't there... would have been lots of targets for the supernova :(

I believe the initial order by liberty was to destroy one specific cap ship by smaller ship when we had a standoff in area 21.

Good plan. except liberty fighters/bombers did not have enough firepower to take out that battleship.
If we had 1 or 2 more good bombers... the end may have been a lot different.

My fondest memory of the fight was to fly through the whole corsair fleets fire power, cap guns blazing in front, titans and 1 Gunboat at my back trying to shoot my down. and then nail that BS 3 times and survive my runs.
Reminded me so much of the space battle fight from a certain Episode III beginning.

Funniest? an Osiris succumbing to the minefield.....

The battle between Kusari and Bretonia has stagnated. Meanwhile, relations between Liberty, who diplomatically favour the Bretonians, and the Chancellor, who supports the Kusaris, have deteriorated.

If Rhineland enters the Bretonia-Kusari conflict, their military might attack Bretonia, or even launch a surprise attack on Liberty itself. The Corsair assault has highlighted the weakness of the Liberty Navy, compromising their diplomatic authority - and Rhineland has been increasingly aggressive in anti-Liberty and anti-Bretonian war-related propaganda.

Clearly it is the Corsairs intent to break the stalemate by promoting Rhineland involvement - cutting off the Outcasts various supply and trade routes, as is believed to be their original intention.

The only chance to avert war between all 4 houses is to demonstrate the might of the Liberty Navy to the Rhinelanders. The Order, and their Corsair allies must be crushed.

Everyone gets steamrollered from time to time, thats life! I am not going to whine about it. I have been on a larger force just as often as I have been on a weaker one. Hell after the server restarted and the remaining Corsairs decided to move further into NY I attacked their mass of ships single handed in my Claw. It was fun forcing the fighters to retreat closer to their Caps as their entire fleet tried to kill me :P

An evenly matched encounter is more fun for both parties but sometimes it does not go that way. It's not like we did not have a large force assembled to defend, it's just that we did not have the Caps or the bombers to effectivily deal with the enemy Caps. The tatics proved wrong as well and my orders went largely ignored by the rag tag host we had assembled. I won't pretend I am a Fleet Admiral! The best part was the stand off at the begining and the skirmishing of the smaller ships. Once the Caps were fully commited the battle was lost to quickly.

The only complaint I have about the encounter is afterwards several Order/Corsair ships did not making themselves hostile to the local NPC's while chasing me down. I took some great screens of Corsairs sitting right behind the Missouri firing at me. Thats poor RP, if I attack an enemy and they happen to be neutral or green on my rep I make sure to fire at the local NPC's so my enemy NPC contacts fire up red.

There was a couple of violations after the server crash including re-engagement, swearing in system from 2 seperate players. Remember to stick to the rules folks and be a good sport win or lose.

dude why mmake em hostile to you?
all my LSF chars are neutral to the order (purely because most have the wrong tag and because i decide not to attack order NPcs unless i have RP for it, sides im rarely in order space.) makes it easier to fly through Minor
