Basicly, I am a bit confused with the number of factions on the server, This server is the first time Im trying freelancer online so I am a bit unsure on how things work...
I've read the rules and found out, that it is required for you to join a faction after rank40, while I am about 20 right now, I feel that I should decide now and make some effort for it (like getting a ship and equipment)...
Basicly what I want : I want to join an active faction that PvPs a lot and u get on some interesting missions with it...
So, should I join some States' official force (navy, security), if so, which one? Or rather some underground group (pirates, order..)?

Actually, mate, you're misinterpreting things here. You don't have to join a player faction; you just have to get an ID besides the Civilian ID. If you're still looking for a player faction, though, may I recommend one of the Outcast factions? We're in the middle of a very active war with the Corsairs and IMG and have to deal with large, daily raids.
While I'm not an Outcast myself, I know they don't raid Liberty a lot. They primarily raid, as Epy said, the Corsairs and the IMG, which they do a lot... Get raided too, which is fun, as long as you're not completely outnumbered, outmanned, and outgunned.
However, if you're interested in raiding Liberty, might I suggest my own faction, the Hellfire Legion? Granted, we aren't big on piracy (though that might change soon, but it'd still be limited...), but we do raid Liberty quite a bit. Well, of course we do, seeing as it's our job. If you'd prefer piracy, I'd suggest the Lane Hackers, but note that they don't raid Liberty as much. Any way you look at it, though, you should note that Liberty tend to outnumber everyone. Makes for a nice challenge, but you'll certainly want to make sure that if you join a faction that battles Liberty that they can train you.
EDIT: Oh, I feel like an idiot now. I misread "Lawful" as "Liberty" somehow. Sorry about that, you can ignore me now.
Srlock, your response rather re-enforces my first statement. Your faction choice has very little to do with
any roleplay, and just on whether they get to fight a lot ... You are missing the point.

Just remember, like Hoodlum said, that this is the Discovery RP server. The forcus is not on shooting other people, the main aspect is Roleplay. The Discovery PvP server, on the other hand, is where everyone just fights...

Not rly, I intend to RP a lot, but to do so, I needed to know what should I RP
I was rly disorientated in that many different factions, so I decided to ask OOC about them. I also knew that I wanted to have a decent fight ingame every now and then. So after I decide which faction will I join, I will adjust my RP accordingly... besides... its a game, a purpouse of a game is to have fun. I know I will have fun with RPing a peaceful character too, but I will have much more fun with RPing a character that gets to fight sometimes... and because I was not orientated in factions, I asked which ones fullfill that criteria, from those I will pick one that suits my vision of my Character RP... So thats why I asked...
