IMG and Brettonia are in war only on this server. They are not hostile yet in this mod. Period.
If you choose a cold war solution, everything should remain the same for IMG.
If you choose a full scale war, then i agree that something should be done.
But, not choosing for QCP and KNF, but NPC changes, or however you call it.

It is every Corsair's responsibility to die a beautiful death in defense of Crete, regardless of how OORP or how capwhoring the opposition is. Launch your fighter, joust the battlecruisers and die a beautiful death. Then, drink it down in the bar.
Also, i think there has been a misunderstanding ...
Quote:Well Igiss says IMG and Bretonia aren't technically at war yet
Quote:Uh... but Chimaera patrols are trying to invade Leeds...
KNF attacks have nothing to do with IMG. Yes, IMG and BMM conflict caused a spark for a war, but that's it.
IMG is not happy with KNF presence (rumors on Holman) and war around them.
There is nothing that implicates that Brettonia is hostile towards IMG, or the other way around.

This discussion brings up an interesting situation I have noticed. One of my chars is an IMG miner/explorer. I am tagged and repped as IMG - but not a member of the Colonial Remnant or the BSG - but I do RP with them when I see them.
I tend to hang out in the Omegas, Omicrons and Taus. In fixing my rep to be a good IMG - I took lots of missions against Outcasts. This works great in the Taus and it makes me friendly with the Corsairs. But this conflicts with the storyline in Dublin/O49. Zoners in O49 are allowing the Corsairs passage to Dublin for raiding. The Mollys are anti-corsair - and the text at Battleship Hood says the IMg is buddy buddy with the Mollys and anti-corsair. It is not consistent. It is possible to run missions from different IMG bases and come out with very different reps - all of them valid IMG reps.
Not really complaining about this - it just makes for complicated roleplay - especially since the UOG has been very active lately in Dublin and O49.
KNF lost:
1 Bomber
~6 Chimaeras
------------------
Problem was that there were not enough KNF online (in the first battle we were 6 I think.. then it was 3 every week after)
Sure we should resurrect those fights.. now when KNF got new members.
Also you misunderstand my point. Off course I can go to Tau 31 to fight QCO - when I see some around . When I don't I simply won't station my ships there or fly all the way to Leeds to kill some NPC Battleships and see if someone comes up. I used to do this at some point... got me 12 NPC BS kills (one takes some 30 Supernova hits)... and a few encounters with QCO. But fighting 4 Hussars alone in the middle of Leeds with 8+ Cavaliers + a BS patrol was not really all that fun to do it often.
When it finally was 1 or 2 SF/QCO.. there always came 2 MKs or something like that. Which led to those funny situations like 1 KNF getting help from 2 NLH, 2 BSG and 1 Corsair to fight a QCO fighter and a BS supported by 2 MKs.
No problem with that... but attacking into Bretonia alone and outnumbered .. with a stationary BS that kills you in two shots.. that's not really something that I enjoyed. I have never seen any attacks the other way. I saw blunt a few times in sigma 13 lately.. that was all.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
When were these fights? Like how long ago (weeks), and what time during the day in GMT?
I missed them all and had no idea.
We should have as many QC* vs KNF battles as possible, which will increase popularity, which will increase recruitment for both, which will enable more battles... Feedback loop started.
There actually is a news report on the Hood that talks about how the IMG is hoping the KNF will liberate them, or something...I'll get a screenshot and post it when I can.
And yeah, those battles were hard to arrange sometimes. The caps were in the first battle; after that, it was fighters only (except a couple of catamarans). After a few horrible and very embarrassing losses, we discovered that the Templar is virtually helpless against someone who's decent in a Chimaera; but just as we changed tactics to Hussars (which resulted in the QCRF's only victory, though just BARELY), we for whatever reason stopped doing them. Now, Dieter, if you can figure out how to be effective in a Temp against a Chimaera, you'll have my gratitude. The Hussar is a kickin' LF, but I liked my Templar better.:P
Yes, the hopes were, that with KNF rolling in, the BMM would get kicked out and IMG would peaceully move in wouthout being blamed or attacked by Bretonia. That however is slowly fading away, since it looks like Kusari would prefer to take over the Taus for its own (read - Samura/Kishiro)
If it indeed goes into hot shooting between IMG and Bretonia (IMG ain't gonna start it, but might get threatened and forced to do so), then Cardiff will fall first. South shields might hold out for quite long. It's remote and the Mollys get loads of supplies from the IMG. They might quietly slow the BAF advance. Freeport 4 and Freistadt will remain intact. Why? Remember the SP campaign? When in omega 3, heading for Sprague, Juni spoke of one "Bohrmann treaty". If I got it right - no military movement was allowed in the Omegas. If Bretonia tried moving into Omega 7 (Daumann and Kruger have their bases there, plus Rugen station in omega 3), they'd Risk confrontation with the RM. A bit the same in Magellan. Only this time - help might arrive from the LEAST expected side. Lane hackers and Rogues. They get most of their supplies from the freeport and wouldn't want that to change. Hell... even Liberty couldn't (in all its hypocrisy) let taking over a neutral base slide. So close to its borders ESPECIALLY.
But what about the Taus? Tau-31 gate would get captured by IMG right away as former BMM property. Harris's fate is unsure either. With IMG owning 2 bases in'23, the Outcasts will ahve a much tougher job smuggling and supplying their Kusari allies. That means Kusari might ultimately clear the Harris are of Bretonian presence, leaving the terraforming site to its own fate. (Planetform is a Bretonain corp) IMG has little terraforming experience, but might just finish the terraforming process, which though delayed - is well underway and advanced.

Some members of the IMG may want to claim Harris as an IMG home planet - but that would anger the Gaians - who are now friendly to the IMG because we both have issues with Bretonian military.
My IMG character is a miner - and he likes turning big rocks into little ones and has little use for a planet. But that is just me and my character!
