I have enjoyed all my interactions with the reformed CR on every occasion. Indies? Not so much. But this group does well in the roleplay department, and I've never had a interaction that wasn't positive.
First off, Duncan - your feedback so far has been "i wont deal with these guys till they stop acting like idiots, and act like a faction"
Clarify please?
Other then Coronado, which was, until that point an isolated incident, and not even intentional - the other times weve interacted with GRP have been thus...
(that i can accurately remember)
the first raid where we got smashed
the second raid where the valor showed up*
another raid with one of our cruisers and a gunboat, where we got two cruisers dropped on us, both indies and official, and got killed pretty good
the myriad times where that one GRP bomber pilot made us all look like fools.
After that, weve had a few encounters with GRN, of which - one was the valor - another was a single cruiser - and another was a fighter duel (other then the one leeds battle where 5 GRN| caps attacked two pythos)
So, clarify please? What is it were doing wrong?
As for the valor - there's no coroborating evidence that it came under fire - it was 4k away, out of the fight, and its first message was...
Quote:GRN|RNS-|Ciel.Enflamme: The crown hath called, and we doth answer. Foward, for the people of gallia!
...which sounds like that could be mistaken for an engage message.
A group of fighters, not a bomber among them, would be clinically braindead if they strafed and dropped some mines on a valor, in some vain attempt to do any damage to it.
Quote:GRN|RNS-|Ciel.Enflamme: Gunners, man the stations and prepare for war, the sky shall be shattered!
which definitely was an engage message, and during this whole time, my lag was in the fifties, so I had stayed out - the valor moved to outside the battle - said its first message - and in under a minute - said its second message and opened fire. *shrug*
I wasn't even angry really, I thought the battle was pretty fun for most of it - some of my faction members were livid, however.
After that, weve had a few encounters with GRN, of which - one was the valor - another was a single cruiser - and another was a fighter duel (other then the one leeds battle where 5 GRN| caps attacked two pythos)
Dane...It was 3 GRN| caps (two Valors and an Obstinate) and two Indie Valors against FOUR Pythos, and that was because Roubiax was, inRP, the highest ranking officer.
Ahhh, I could sworn it was like, me and Timo, lobbing snacs into roubaix, trying desperately to kill it before all his big nasty buddies showed up, and chased us away like little girls:D
Really, it's the general mess involving the CR. Yes, I said I would not deal with the CR until they have grown up a bit. I did the exact same to the JZ. Now my actual problems? Attitude. Breaking of agreement.
When that little skype channel came up, we all agreed the CR could raid Gallia. Why not? Then the first part of that raid was us chasing you around Gallia. When the actual fighting began, I had one of your members PMing me saying who knows what, but it wasn't about puppies, I can tell you that.
After that, we went back to the skype chat, said how the Valor wasn't supposed to of been there fighting, and that it is a bit ridiculous if the CR go into the heart of Gallia, or really any of the core worlds. We agreed.
I can't quite remember the circumstances of the next raid, but I do believe there was the cruiser there. Now you stated at the very beginning that you would never bring a cruiser in. So we smashed it. I believe it happened in Dauphine, with two cruisers (one being myself) and 2 GRP officers, +1 GRN indie. Your side had the cruiser and an assortment of snubs. I'm not really sure.
I'm not sure if it was at this point or later I got sick of it, but it doesn't really matter. CR has bad blood in it from the last CR. I told you it was going to be hard and you said you were going to be different from the previous CR. So far all I see is a copy of it with a tad less caps.
My general mood when I hear of the CR being in Gallia is poor. Maybe it is because of the old CR, and I apologize for that. They really left a mark on me and Gallia as a whole. I think I'm seeing the old CR come out in your members or something and simply dislike it. Again, that would be my bad.
I'm still waiting for a simple raid of Gallia, and many more. I think we've pushed each others buttons a bit too much, and man, it is a bit pointless.
' Wrote:Then the first part of that raid was us chasing you around Gallia.
Yeah, that was because our goal was to hit some GMS miners, and we saw you in the same system - so the idea was to draw you off a bit, so we could go and get them - rp behind that is economic warfare - damage gallia's war economy, and you damage gallias ability to continue the war - also the side benefit that terrorism makes a populace war weary, and more angry at their government for letting it happen. either way, the plan wasnt to piss you off by taking you on a merry chase - in the end though we were like "yeah, lets get to the fighting." *shrug*

Yeah, and for that you have my apology. Afterwards, I instituted a new rule in CR, which was no green pm's to anyone were fighting, whatsoever, unless you were giving kudos. I've had other members green pm some folks, and all it ever does is piss people off. Whether that rule is followed, I can't tell. But I can post you skype quotes where i've told each new CR member not to do it.

We did, and CR combat ships have never gone past Dauphine since.

I have a couple members now that have cruisers, and on the one time I allowed it, it was mostly because I was upset with your previous conduct. Regardless, cruisers don't go past Orkney, and they really don't have too.

CR| as it was before I got involved had a fair number of people from =CR= - afterall, it was the faction for the folks who disagreed with the previous HC just saying "we quit" - some of these folks had been involved with =CR= in its glory days, and had lost interest once =CR= became the dry, enthusiasm-dead faction it was when I joined.
When I got involved, my hope was to clean the faction of negative =CR= influence, and so far thats been the case. The faction members I have listen to me (most of them) so it hasn't been a problem. I still have one or two folks who have serious temper issues, and I keep them around because their both my bro's, and because their enthusiastic and excited to be in the faction - thats a commodity factions need, that cant be forced. And now is when those people are needed more then anything else. If that means I have to play damage control a bit more, then I just consider that the price I have to pay.
' Wrote:My general mood when I hear of the CR being in Gallia is poor.
Then we can stop raiding if thats what you want. My intention is not to anger factions with what CR is doing. Originally the idea of gallia raids is because GRP and GRN are supposed to be spending the majority of their time out of gallia, and in taus\bretonia. It was a move to get some activity, for both of us, and it works honestly. But if its causing negative feelings toward CR, then its not worth it.

No worries bro.

Pft. That's nothing.
I do remember me.. and a couple of CR caps. And snubs. And those two Npc Zephyrs.
Nothing new, nothing old. It's Disco.

If I remember correctly, we were attacking a base, and reavers\mercs showed up. Was a fun scramble, and I enjoyed it. One of the faction ragequit, though:D
As for that base, one of our faction members actually owns it now. (the faction doesn't however.)
I had a rather major concern about the conduct of one of the CR, and I brought it up with the leadership. It was swiftly dealt with, and the attitude which Dane went about doing it was one that should be expected from a faction leader, something that definitely bodes well for the future of the CR.
The CR has a good forum presence, and a decent in game roleplay presence. Apparently you'we ewen got a pirate Radio you're hosting up in Maine, which is something I find to be a really cool idea, it's a shame that the Gallic Core Worlds are so empty though.
And lastly, despite how I may feel after some encounters, the CR is bringing actiwity to the Taus, and to Gallia. The CR is giwing me a reason to log my GRN (and wice-wersa), and that is undoubtedly a good thing. I definitely look forward to meeting you in future encounters, and working with you guys in the future;).

Thank you Irwin - I know things have not always been easy, and there have been times both the GRN and CR have come away from encounters with less then ideal feelings about the other.
The task at hand for me is working together with GRN Faction Lead, identifying problem area's in my own faction, and fixing them. Of note, the last couple encounters have not always led to satisfaction from both sides, and with a good finger on the pulse of our inrp enemies, It's given me the information I need to fix things.
This faction has a hard road, and with so much that can go wrong, I don't expect perfection. All I can promise is that I'm stubborn, that I'll stay stubborn, and with that stubborness, never stop trying to make my faction into a good one - for the enjoyment of all involved, even our enemies.
But it wasn't me. It's curious to see Dane dealing with the same old things over again - where to raid, who to raid, how to raid, which all seem to be things others would prefer to decide about. Guess since nobody's biting Dane's face off about it just yet is a good sign though.
