Greetings Rhinelander... The order pilot said when spotting the Rheinland military ship with the Rheinland military marinenachrichtendienst identification. He was unaware who he just met.
He met the infected agent of the Marinenachrichtendienst, Hans Eckhard, who has been using the host for years causing many crimes against humanity.
You will answer my questions now... He said in hope gaining as much information from the order as possible untill he realises he does not speak with a human.
The situation got even more convincing when a Rheinland military soldier, gefreiter Fuchs, came to them.
Hans Eckhard asked the order many questions and he made the mistake of answering them, proving the nomads important information...
How did you come to Rheinland space?
From sigma 13...
How did you come to the sigma systems?
From the omicrons, the Kusari way...
Do more of your kind travel there?
Yes...
But when Eckhard asked for the new base of order operations in sirius after the destruction of Toledo, the order did not answer. After some time Eckhard gave up trying to get that information from him and told the gefreiter to arrest the order for treason.
The gefreiter, who was put into a possition where he couldn't disobey, done what he was told to...
I am under arrest. Rhinelanders caught me in Hudson.
DAMMIT!
I got distress call from an agent named Snake deep in Rhineland, he'd been captured and escaped with others on one ship, but it had been heavily damaged. I got permission from Overwatch to go after him once our recon mission in New York was over. After our recon, Zone 21 was too heavily patrolled to get past, so I went into Rhineland from the Sigmas and Kusari. Snake managed to limp his ship into Hudson. Unfortunately while going though Hamburg I was detected, by Rhineland military, I took the diplomatic route, and they agreed to meet me in Hudson.
I could've gotten away!
<SLAM!>
So much for the diplomatic route. Luckily I think Snake made it, if he gets back to Order space they'll know I'm here. I thought Rhinelanders were meant to be sympathetic to our cause, I guess this guy was just over paranoid.
There were two of them, I offered to meet them in neutral space after they picked me up on long range scanners. I expected a short but pleasant meeting. Instead I got interrogated and arrested! I told them I was here for a stranded Order pilot, I thought if I told them that, and how I got here, they'd let me leave. Instead one started asking questions about our new home, and <pause> Toledo. The superior officer, a man named Eckhard was convinced the Order have a base in Rhineland. In the end he gave me an ultimatum, answer his questions, fight, or accept arrest. In the interest of diplomacy I accepted arrest.
The one of lesser rank is escorting me to a prison station, I can see it in the distance now, that things huge. I came here under the promise I would be looked after and respected, the sight of that thing makes previous promises look rather hollow now. This is my last chance to escape, it could be easy, but I must stay, Rhineland must think of the Order as it's friend, not an enemy.
This officer escorting me, Albrecht Fuchs is different to Eckhard, he shows me respect, I told him of our old home, and it's fall. Fuchs seems to understand that there's bigger things out there then the Houses and their territorial claims, I told him of our home, and what became of it, the lives we lost and I believe he truly understood and sympathised with our cause. I hope to see more of him while I'm at this station.
*Radio chatter*
"Order Vessel, you may now proceed to docking bay 2"
Two heavy fighters are taking over my escort looks like this is it. Let's just hope they're not stupid enough to try and access my ships computer.
The order ship was now controlled by the automatic docking sequence. The weapons were disabled, the cockpit was locked, when he tried to open it, it did not work. The only way how to open it was from outside.
The ship moved slowly in a dark passage lighted only by some flashing lights...
It stopped and the lights went on and Mareton heared a click and the cockpit opened by itself. He stepped out of his ship looking around. It was a small room with only one door on the other end.
Slowly, unaware what he should be doing he walked towards the door. Suddenly he heared another "click"...
" Prisoner, drop all your weapons on the floor and get on your knees" A woman voice was heared in the reproductors.
.... Click....
Mareton was confused and was still looking around what should all this be about, he was not a prisoner then why should he behave like one.
... Click ...
" Prisoner, you did not follow the orders"
... Click ...
The doors opened and four men walked out, having guns in their hands. Mareton didn't even managed to touch his gun in selfdefence and a stun bullet already flew directly his way. It hit him to the chest. Quickly the other three persons grabbed him. The last thing he can remember was that one of them spoken to him:
Moreton awoke to find himself on a cold metal floor, looking around, the light was dim, and the room no bigger than 2 X 2 meters. There was no obvious door, or cameras or speakers, just cold steel. More tried to stand, only to topple over again, his body hurt all over.
'Side effect of that stun gun' he thought to himself.
Moreton tried once again to lift his own body weight off the floor, only to stumble against the wall. Moreton threw up, and struggled to stay concious, after a few seconds the feeling turned to dizziness and finally passed.
A second inspection of the celling suggested it was actually some kind of hatch, but with no way to open it, Moreton could only assume it would open from the otherside.
'Such a fool I am' he thought 'to believe that I could my way out of this situation, of course Rhineland military would hold me captive, there'll probably be a full interrogation. They're probably all running deciding what the best methods are. I can only pray Overwatch want me found. Hell, they'll probably want me dead, they'll have this station destroyed if they think I'll talk.'
Moreton sat carefully avoiding his own vomit, cradling his face in his hands, when suddenly everything went black, and the whole cell jolted forward as if it began moving. Suddenly the cell was shaking at speed, the sound of machinery in the background. Moreton could swear it was moving. Suddenly the whole cell fell forward, as the hatch opened sending him flying onto a floor outside, badly hurting his arm in the process. Smacking his head into metal everything went white for a second, and then his vision began to return.
After Mareton fell unconcious the guards took him on his arms and carried him through a long floor.
In this time Mareton was semi concious and could see shadows of the guards and the hall they were taking him.
The next time he could see something was that he was passing the agent who arrested him, Hans Eckahrd, talking with two other persons. He could read the name of one of them...." Oberleutnant Karl Tränner "
Oberleutnant...he said to himself...That does not exist anymore...
When he was looking at them, Eckhard looked at him and smiled...
Moretons first reaction was to move his arms, only to realise they were chained behind him. He was sat, his legs were chained together, his wrists to the back of a chair he was sat on. In front of him was a desk, and beyond it a door. The rooms only lighting were thin lights stretching the top edges of the walls. Cameras were visible in each corner of the ceiling, staring at him, inquisitively as the lens visibly zoomed in and out at Moreton.
Moreton was breathing heavily, sweating, panicking. his head a mess of fear. Trying to think clearly, remember his training, but that was years ago, and nothing but a blur now. The sarcasm used to control his fear was now gone, Moreton felt like nothing could save him now. Was to be the end of the road?
