Arrow: Is it still the fastest ship?

Just wondering, is the Civ Arrow Int. still the fastest ship (turn speed) as of the 4.86 update? I hear they made cruise speed variable as well, that's awesome, though I have no doubt fighters will probably not be the fastest in that regard.

Light Fighters now cruise at 400m/s. And yes, the Arrow still is the fastest turner - but not by much. The Falchion, Hussar, Liberator, Phantom, Tiger Shark, and Wyrm all turn at 91.67 degrees per second (vs the Arrow's 99.31). Compared to these however, the Arrow will have turned less in 0.5 seconds than the other listed light fighters (29.9 degrees vs 27.99 degrees).

All in all this means 999/1000 times it will not be worth it to use the Arrow vs a racial LF.

No, it's not. The Armored Transport from the intro is. The Arrow is the fastest player-usable ship. 8-|

Try the Starblazer. More or less same speed, but is smaller, strafes better and has three guns.

Starflier is fastest ship. But you wont use it, dont you? Scimitar is best LF available, I guess. Dagger size, heavy turret and good agility. much better then Arrow

I disagree with the Scimitar point. It's a cool ship, but I feel that the hitbox is a bit too big. Dagger is pretty large compared to other light fighters.

A good LF is the Liberator.
For non-faction specific, I would recommend the Starblazer and Hayabusa. 3 guns, tiny hitbox, amazing agility.

I think the Arrow is still slightly better at turning than the Hayabusa. But the Hayabusa has an extra gun, a huge advantage.

The difference over other LFs isn't worth loosing a 3rd gun in most cases. Plus the arrow screams "I'm only here to troll you."
