Yea, very nice guys, sniping at the guys who offer to continue at this work for free. 'Cause yea - it is an all volunteer deal. And yea, keeping things fair is probably the toughest job there is (apart from catching cheaters). So well done for killing a little bit of motivation of these folks again. Well done indeed. Now, to the points that can actually be addressed:
* No jumpdrive nerfs: Means organised trade and smuggling has 0 chance of encountering pirates. Powertrader's dream. It wasn't what that system was intended for. Not to mention bargejumping... Players found unintended uses for it that reduced chances of interaction. Not what we wanted down in dev central.
* Bring back Slaver and Vigilante IDs: Wouldn't be hard to do. What are you lacking on the current FL ID that these IDs cover?
* Bring back Argus and Zephyr: Wouldn't be extremely difficult I suppose. Although the old Argus model is buggy, would need some work on my side. But does the Colonial shipline really need a battlecruiser and carrier? Or do we need an IMG carrier for some reason? What's the motivation behind this?
* Eliminate technerf, keep the tech-chart updated: Would mean a lot of weapons will need to get their stats raised and/or lowered so there are no "better" or "worse" weapons anymore. Because otherwise you get people switching their own faction weapons for the better weapons of weak allies - which is not why faction tech exists. Would also mean a lot of admin work in dealing with sanction reports of Titans with Buckshots and the likes. It also goes against dev wishes to put as much of the rule enforcement as possible to be handled automatically by the server, without any need for admin attention. Admins want to play this game too you know...

Then how about "If you don't like what we're making, go find something else to do". You signed up to play here. So play the game as it is. Funny how that arguement works two ways isn't it? The "you're not doing a good enough job" is getting quite old as well.
Discussions like these make me wish we'd never put in group jumps to begin with. Just capital class jumps (selfpowered) with carriers able to tug smaller vessels along by having them dock with them. Have the transports zoof up and down the lanes like they always did. Have pirates happily yarrharr them. That's worked for all versions until now. So fall back on that.

I can count the chronic complainers on one hand Dubstep - and have pretty much learnt to ignore most of what they write. It burned me out once having to constantly deal with dozens of conflicting opinions. I've gone with trusting my own.
I'll agree that the mod needs work in areas: Gallia is in dire need of a ton of work, and a couple of other things probably need to be addressed as well. Right now I'm working on 4.87 - region Rheinland. Resizing Munich, tweaking Frankfurt to sort out some traderoute breaking issues in relation to the Hamburg gates... Hamburg and the adjacent independent worlds to cut the gates (they'll be blown by the Rheinies)... Dresden as the Hessians take over part of the mined out system. Saar as the Rheinies start to move in on LWB central... in other words, work is being done. But the dev team is small and there's not many people who can do high quality dev work. Accepting mediocre stuff and rushing to finish 4.86 got us where we are now.
Might be helpful to answer the questions in my earlier post in regards to the old Colonial carrier and cattlebruiser, and the ID troubles.
Technerf: If you can find a way that does -not- involve putting workload on the admins, I can bring it up for consideration with the rest of the dev team. But if "your" fun means more work for the people who already try and serve the community... Then don't expect a positive response from our end.
Jumps: I've made myself clear on that one I think.

You need to understand something. I'm not saying no one in the dev team does anything or that everyone there is a failure. However, there are people that are just that.
But hey, that might be just my opinion.

The ones I'm pissing on aren't doing anything to begin with. Or they're doing it wrong.
