Not a good chose to get a ship and then a RP for it... But if it is Raven's Talon, you are more or less free on it, since it is a ship for commercial purposes, (and sold on black market...blah..)
make up your mind what "role" you want to play. only then its really possible to think of equipment. if you are a zoner, you can aswell fly with justice mk1 - cause you won t fight anyone anyway.

I wouldn't say that. The Corsairs seem to be itching to blow me up, despite being a Zoner, allowing them to dock on Zoner bases, and having done nothing to them...
While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack http://pastebin.com/SYQXBufs
i have that in mind - i ll do the same with justice mk1 against their gunboats.
edit: but seriously....its easier to think of a role you wish to play before you go for the ship. the server isn t too tolerant with a freely interpreted role, but usually offers enough freedom for most roles you can think of. most of all, it need a rough role - fighter, wingman, explorer, guardian, police etc. when you are IMG, explorer or escort comes up the mind.
when its about weapons - the IMG has OK weapons of their own - but you are free to add civilian stuff, too - aswell as the common zoner base equipment like razors, nuke mines, enhanced thrusters/nomad thrusters or whatever else. - additionally, you can prolly add nomad guns aswell - i don t know how much the IMG is in contact with nomads, but when you are an explorerer, you re likely to have run into them. codenames are also OK, if you like slowly moving projectiles with a 2.0 refire rate.
all in all, you can pretty much use whatever you like - except for the obviously hostile stuff ( outcast stuff for example )
alright. so maybe not so much a good choice for ships as far as RP. are there any factions that allow the use of the ship? PvP, not NPC.
also, what are my options as far as ID's go?
a ravens talon goes well with: IMG,GMG, Zoners, Freelancer, Mercenary, any Tradeing cooperation as an escorting ship.
IMG uses such a ship cause they can and cause they build it. they d use it as escorts and exploration ships. IMG is also in open battle with their enemies and needs a good fighter; GMG .. see IMG; Zoners can use it. they have good relations to both IMG and GMG and are allowed to sell that ship on their bases. Zoners might not have enemies, but that doesn t mean they like to fly around in defenseless ships - furthermore, Zoners are mostly traders and have the cash to afford such a ship; mercenaries take what is beneficial to them. the ravens talon is easily aquired and worth the cash you have to pay for it; trading cooperations might use it as an escort vessel for very valuable cargo, mostly cause they can afford to buy it. freelancers ... see mercenaries.
in theory it works with other IDs, too - but the talon is described as one of the most expensive ships - so some factions would just not really want this too badly.
other factions that might use it are: military, BHG, order, spa & cruise, maybe junkers/hogosha ( but those rather use the CSV cause it has a larger hold ) - reasons why those factions would rather not use it ( allthough they can do by the rules ) military have their own ships and the ship is some sort of identification. a raven talon is not specific enough for a military; BHG has their own ships - and believes that their own ships are far superior; order prefers the anubis / nephytis line - they have the talon / ravens talon, too... but like the BHG, they would believe that the anubis type is superior; spa & cruise is like trading cooperations.. but they are hauling mostly passengers and VIPs. their big ships are very well equipped anyway but they have no real need for a VHF, cause they are not really doing much exploration far from the civilized places - so they rather call for the navy / police when in trouble; junkers/hogosha may use them, most probably - but i am not sure if those factions would really spend that much cash on a ship that lacks one of the primary things they look for .... cargo space.
so if you want a good chance of pvp, you should take a mercenary ID along with that ship. if you want a more fixed pvp - you could go IMG, GMG. if you wish to be a bit more neutral but still have a good option for pvp, take the freelancer - those can take bounties, too - but not as hated as mercenaries ( usually ). if you like pvp - but like to be rather defensive, you can take a cooperation ID and join transports on dangerous routes ( sigma-13 for example ) you won t have a boring time there.
hey bass the faction is in its early stages right now i still have to pull it together and get things situated before i start advertising it. dont worry it will bee up soon as soon as i get things sorted out with the admins on another issue
