Well the thing is.. Faction creation does not work the way with being imported from outside by people who we don't know any of.. And the style *we have lots of people already here and you don't know them* is not the proper way to gain favor but only would make things worse. Most of the successful clans, factions built in Discovery so far are made up by the people who spent decent time in getting acquainted with the way of things go here before declaring their own projects. And yes, they all started from the first step, bastion of noobness. We all did, no offense here. Recent example of this is the Lane Hackers which I believe they have been doing a great job so far. And I felt the talent and promise the first day I recieved a private message from Xoria about the roleplay of his Unioner character. Sorry, but these are the reality at all.
Im usually pretty quick to enable chubb mode when it is absolutely necessary, I didn't feel we were at that point quite yet on this one... mind you, it is getting very close. Hood may disagree with me and enable it though.

@Blunt: Do you know what "Chugoku" means in Japanese? (or indeed, Ch-i-yu-go-ku, as its spelt in hiragana)
Thats right, it means "China"!
Also, guys, can we stop the lynching of this faction please? These guys are the only guys who have even bothered to try to introduce themselves here. Maybe they dont fit your bill in their current state, but so what? When I was new here, I went to Rheinland in a Kusari battleship, shooting up the RM and had a Xeno tagged Outcast dreadnought who shot an admin's trader. I got a chance, I reckon these guys deserve one to. We dont all change overnight.
If you move into a new home, your neighbors dont come around and set down the laws like the 10 commandments. Equally, you dont play music at ridiculous volumes to annoy your neighbors. You get to know each other slowly and ease into the community.
I say, ease these people into it. For god sake, we bitch when people dont introduce themselves, and we bitch when they do! Can the new people even have a chance of coming out of this with something to show for it?
I understand your 'concerns' and they are perfectly valid, but howabout using a little tact when dealing with the new people on the block huh? Be nice, bring cupcakes and some milk. Dont bring your concerns and reservations straight to his door as soon as you can. Instead, tell them how to fix what is broken, not pointing at what is broken and yelling at the top of your voice.
(Of course I understand that some may find that hypocritical, regarding that long balance thread I started not so long ago, so this post refers specifically to how we should treat the new guys, not how we treat each other.)
If I was treated like this when I came, I wouldn't be here now.
I dont think you would be either.
As I said, people dont change in a day, or even a few weeks.
Give them time. If you dont want to, then by all means, try to kick them out. But remember how you started out here. I certainly remember how I started out here, safe to say I would have my ass banned if I came after the voiders fiasco at the beginning of last year.
If you dont give them a chance, then what right does anyone have to a chance hmm?
As you can all see by earlier post on page 3 or so, I was willing to give Cobra and Trius the benefit of the doubt, but I must say I am not impressed with the majority of what I have read here. It does seem as if they are bringing a rather pwnzor attitude with them, and that does not set well with me. I do understand that Cobra was kind of backed up against a wall.
Abraham Lincoln once said "Nearly all men can handle adversity, but if you want to test a man's character... give him power." (sorry heard it last night and had to use it) How that is relevant here is, Trius apparently had some major pwnage power over on Void, and it is all I have heard about in this thread. Arrogance typically doesnt go over well no matter what circumstance you are in. And when faced with the adversity of a little push back of our community, that is what was displayed. OK, maybe the quote doesnt fit, but it's good none the less.
So I humbly go from thumbs up to two thumbs down.

You know Elgato, I used to think that way when I came to this server.
Actually, to be brutally honest, I still do.
I just cover it in a veil of RP.
News to some here maybe?
But its true.
I'd rather somone go around saying things and then us try to change it without the silly behaviour rather than them just avoiding us and going ahead with whatever plethora of ships and weapons they choose and proceeding to get banned faster than you can say "cheese".
EDIT: @ AC Merc
I agree in a sense with what you have said, and I myself would have had.. lets say.. more restraint if I was in his position. However, one must look at it from where he is standing. They want to slow down in the pace, they want to relax, just as we do. So why must we shove dirt in their face when they start boasting about how pwnzor they are? To be honest, some just like to boast, others keep it to themselves and own in the silence of space. We all have or ways of dealing with being backed into a corner.
I seriously dislike the predatory attitude I am seeing in this thread to a bunch of newcomers. Actions speak louder than words, you all know that. So why dont you let them prove themselves instead of whineing about something that happened last year or the apocalyptic views on new guys joining us.
